Update: I updated This article in August 2022 with the new AdSense account approval process.
It’s pointless to mention again that AdSense is one of the best contextual advertising networks. Until now, the AdSense approval process was simple: You create a new AdSense account, your account is reviewed, The AdSense team accepts your application, and you can implement ads on your site and start making money.
From now on, AdSense has changed the AdSense approval process and made this easy for new publishers.
Here is the new account AdSense approval process:
- Ensure your website is compatible with AdSense
- Sign up for an AdSense account
- Add the AdSense code on your website
- AdSense team review and approve/reject your website in 2-3 days
- AdSense team will ask you to verify your identity
- Add Payment information to get paid (Payment threshold is $100)
Once you add the code on your blog, that will show blank ads. Here is a video that shows how to create your first AdSense ad unit:
In a typical scenario, it would take 48 hours to review your application. Once your application is approved, it would start showing ads on your blog & you will start making money.
Here is the process for AdSense approval:
- Register for an AdSense account by going to AdSense.com. Provide all the correct information about your Name, Address, and Website URL.
- Login to your AdSense account, and create AdSense codes. Place the codes in your blog sidebar.
- Ads will show as blank until the final approval process doesn’t finish. It may take up to 2 weeks for approval. Make sure you don’t remove the ads.
- After the final AdSense approval, you will get a confirmation email.
- Once your AdSense earning reaches $10, AdSense will mail you a PIN to your address.
- Login to your AdSense account, and enter the Pin once you receive it.
- Congrats you have completed all the steps. Once your account reaches $100, Google will send you or wire your earning. I recommend you to enable direct bank transfer for AdSense payments.
Though this will certainly help in domain ownership verification and moreover those who are signing up using someone else website, might find it tough to get into AdSense. If they still reject your account, it’s time to try out AdSense alternatives.
Have you signed up for AdSense recently? How was your experience with the new AdSense approval process?

is there a thing like my adsense will only get approved if I have a certain number of visitors coming to my website or blog or it can happen with a low number of visitors also? If you can help me out with this then it would be great.
@Syed
There is no such traffic required for AdSense, at least there is no such publicly available information.
Other platforms like Media.net & Properllerads, do have traffic requirement.
Google Adsense is very strict when it comes to content policy. There was a post about VPN proxy on my blog because of which I was failing toget approved for Google Adsense. When I removed that there came an email saying your website is ready to serve ads.

@Neha
I think you can apply, and Adsense might ask you to add codes to verify your domain.
However, you should not apply for AdSense, as they have halted accepting a new website due to the Covid-19 situation.

I have not got my AdSense account fully approved since 5 Months. Please help.
Hello Sir/Madam,
I am facing problem on my AdSense account Approving Process since last 5 Months.
Whenever I sign in to my AdSense account at that time I always see a message says, “Your AdSense application is still under review. You will only see blank ads until your account has been either fully approved or disapproved.”
I saw above message since last 5 Months. I have opened my AdSense account attached with my YouTube channel named “MannGmahadik” on Apr 17, 2017. at that time I got the email from AdSense says, “Your AdSense account has been fully approved.” but as of now I am facing this approval problem. I am sending messages to AdSense Help Center but they haven’t solved & and not replied to my questions. My publisher id is – pub-7149939966913716. Is here anybody can help me, what to do for solve this problem. please help I will be very Thankful to you.
That is because according to the new policies at YouTube you need to get at least 10000 channel views for your adsense account to go for the final review. It looks like you haven’t reached 10,000 views yet.
All the best.

I’m applied for AdSense with YouTube and got approved.
When i upgraded my account hosted to non hosted, i placed the Ad Code in the of my website.
At that time, they said, it will be take 3 days 🙂
It’s 1 week now!
I didn’t get any response from them!
Thanks, Harsh! You’re doing a great job here; instilling value in us through this medium. We highly appreciate your effort.
My blog is just a month old with 17 posts, which 70% of them are up to 2500 word counts. I have just applied to Google AdSense program, and I got a message that my site is currently being reviewed. I’ll keep you guys posted as things unfold.
