Google AdSense Account Approval Process- 2024

256Shares

Update: I updated This article in August 2022 with the new AdSense account approval process.

It’s pointless to mention again that AdSense is one of the best contextual advertising networks. Until now, the AdSense approval process was simple: You create a new AdSense account, your account is reviewed, The AdSense team accepts your application, and you can implement ads on your site and start making money.

From now on, AdSense has changed the AdSense approval process and made this easy for new publishers.

Here is the new account AdSense approval process:

  1. Ensure your website is compatible with AdSense
  2. Sign up for an AdSense account
  3. Add the AdSense code on your website
  4. AdSense team review and approve/reject your website in 2-3 days
  5. AdSense team will ask you to verify your identity
  6. Add Payment information to get paid (Payment threshold is $100)

Once you add the code on your blog, that will show blank ads. Here is a video that shows how to create your first AdSense ad unit:

In a typical scenario, it would take 48 hours to review your application. Once your application is approved, it would start showing ads on your blog & you will start making money.

Here is the process for AdSense approval:

  • Register for an AdSense account by going to AdSense.com. Provide all the correct information about your Name, Address, and Website URL.
  • Login to your AdSense account, and create AdSense codes. Place the codes in your blog sidebar.
  • Ads will show as blank until the final approval process doesn’t finish. It may take up to 2 weeks for approval. Make sure you don’t remove the ads.
  • After the final AdSense approval, you will get a confirmation email.
  • Once your AdSense earning reaches $10, AdSense will mail you a PIN to your address.
  • Login to your AdSense account, and enter the Pin once you receive it.
  • Congrats you have completed all the steps. Once your account reaches $100, Google will send you or wire your earning. I recommend you to enable direct bank transfer for AdSense payments.

Though this will certainly help in domain ownership verification and moreover those who are signing up using someone else website, might find it tough to get into AdSense. If they still reject your account, it’s time to try out AdSense alternatives.

Have you signed up for AdSense recently? How was your experience with the new AdSense approval process?

Here is a video that will help you in adding AdSense codes on your WordPress blog.

My blog is just a month old with 17 posts, which 70% of them are up to 2500 word counts. I have just applied to Google AdSense program, and I got a message that my site is currently being reviewed. I’ll keep you guys posted as things unfold.

    Hi Harsh,

I have a confusion. I had an admob account for past few years and now it got integrated in adsense. Now recently i created a new domain and applied for adsense but got rejected maybe i didn’t fulfil the 6 months criteria (m from India). I have not reapplied as yet but six months have passed. Now when i go to adsense and create a page level ad unit, i am able to do so. I placed it on my website on localhost (not live site) and i can see ads displaying. But I am not approved in adsense. I dont understand. Should i be seeing ads on my local website?

    Hello Harsh,

It seems that things are changing for the better with adsense approvals. Having been rejected thrice (3 times), I just reapplied again and got to the next stage where they told me to copy code and paste within my and tags. I did this and adsense displayed the following

    “We’re reviewing your site

This usually takes up to 3 days, but in some cases it can take a bit longer. We’ll email you when everything’s ready.”

I hope it wont exceed this number of days to get it finally approved. Thanks a lot.

  9. Dhaval

Hey Harsh , I am beginner for Blog I have posted around the 40 post on myblog
can i go for google Adsense approval ??
and also how can i know that now my blog account will be approved ?/
    Kindly Reply me

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      hey Dhaval,

yes, you can apply for it. One can never be 100% sure that adsense account will get approved. however, there are few check points which you need to see:

      1. About Us page
      2. Contact us page
      3. privacy policy
      4. no copyright content
      5. easy to navigate site
      6. quality and original articles.
      7. blog should be 6 months old. This is a pre-requisite for applying for adsense. However, there are many cases where people have gotten aaproval for account within a month.

So, keeping above points in mind, apply for adsense.

  11. crappycatalog

Hi, I got accepted in AdSense in just about 1 1/2 months and with only 4 posts. I think you should post in schedule and you should have atleast 100-1000 views per post for them to accept you 🙂 if you want to check my site -> crappycatalog.com

I got Google Ad sense approval for my youtube channel (In December 2016). Then i created a blog in the month of January 2017 and got approval separately. Got the approval for blog in the month of March 2017 Ads started running in my blog since 10 days. My blog is having average traffic of 4000 views per day. My question is in my ad sense account i can see the daily transaction of my youtube channel and not for my blog. Request you to kindly suggest.

    Hello Harsh Sir,
First of all heartily thanks for nice article, it helps a lot to start google adsense in very smooth way. I’m blogging past 5 years and learned plethora of new stuffs and still enjoying.

I have a Query and wish reply from your side ASAP. My Blogger is showing Adsense but unable to log in my adsense account. When i click “Visit AdSense for details of my earnings” it’s showing this error:- Looks like this Google account isn’t associated with an AdSense account. That’s okay. You can either sign in with the Google account associated with AdSense, or sign up for an AdSense account today.

And when i tried “Switch AdSense account” its showing :–This URL cannot be used to sign up for AdSense.

    What to do sir?

    Thanks.

    hi Harsh,
I signed up for adsense before 3 weeks.Till now I didnt got any approval or Disapproval reply for my blog. What would be the issue.

  16. Bhavesh Sharma

I am getting problem. I submitted for adsense. Then logged in. The dashboard was all clean and there was only one message: We are reviewing your site, it may take upto 3 days. There was a code also. I was asked to place the the code after head section of my website’s theme. I did it but I am not able to click on My ads to create ad unit. Please help

    1. mohan sai

im also facing the same issue

    2. Bhaskar

      BHAVESH,
This is because your site is still under review and as long as it’s not been approved, you won’t be able to create any ad unit. Have patience and check your mail regularly. If your application gets rejected don’t worry Google will give you exact reasons on why they disapprove your site. Rectify those mistakes and apply again. And don’t ever click on your own ads. Hope it helps.

  17. widbell

nice article, thanks for share that. keep update!

  18. kazim kamsang

Thanks for this post Harsh. I recently applied for Adsense. I got an approval telling me to create my first Ad and place on my blog but when i signed in to my Adsense account the my Ads and other links were disabled so impossible to create ads. On the home it says it will take 3 days to review my site, its been over 2 weeks now. Any suggestions

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Kazim
I faced the similar issue when I was applying for AdSense account for my friend. I had to contact AdSense team using one of my connection to get this issue resolved. Try to reach out to AdSense team & ask them for fixing this issue for you.

      1. kazim kamsang

Thanks again Harsh for replying soon. But the problem is I don’t how to contact them

        1. kazim kamsang

Thank so much Harsh ….I have been approved by adsense and ads are on my site already

          1. mozibor rahman

harsh, I applied for Adsense and it got rejected saying you have insufficient content. Then I put some more posts on my blog and applied once again and google mailed me saying a problem with ownership of your domain. And after applying again I got a reply from google saying that place the code on your site which was already placed. But I removed that one and place again. And it is still showing in my AdSense account that they are reviewing my site. It has been more than a week. And yes my site is on blogger and I have a custom domain. And in the blogger dashboard, in the earning tab, there are all the options to show ad. But when I log in to my Adsense account there is no option to click my ads or other sections. I can only click on the settings and home tab there. I really need some help from you.

      @pretty
Aren’t you able to generate ad codes? See if My ads section is accessible. Try some other browser at the same time to check. Let me know

    Hi Sir

I have an ad-sense account, which i created during you-tube monetization..
Now i want to apply for my website.. So should i use the same gmail account or new one..

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Appy
Right now you have a hosted AdSense account. You can convert the same account into a general account (Non hosted account)

      1. Appy

Thank You So Much Sir For Your Valuable Time 🙂
