Update: I updated This article in August 2022 with the new AdSense account approval process.
It’s pointless to mention again that AdSense is one of the best contextual advertising networks. Until now, the AdSense approval process was simple: You create a new AdSense account, your account is reviewed, The AdSense team accepts your application, and you can implement ads on your site and start making money.
From now on, AdSense has changed the AdSense approval process and made this easy for new publishers.
Here is the new account AdSense approval process:
- Ensure your website is compatible with AdSense
- Sign up for an AdSense account
- Add the AdSense code on your website
- AdSense team review and approve/reject your website in 2-3 days
- AdSense team will ask you to verify your identity
- Add Payment information to get paid (Payment threshold is $100)
Once you add the code on your blog, that will show blank ads. Here is a video that shows how to create your first AdSense ad unit:
In a typical scenario, it would take 48 hours to review your application. Once your application is approved, it would start showing ads on your blog & you will start making money.
Here is the process for AdSense approval:
- Register for an AdSense account by going to AdSense.com. Provide all the correct information about your Name, Address, and Website URL.
- Login to your AdSense account, and create AdSense codes. Place the codes in your blog sidebar.
- Ads will show as blank until the final approval process doesn’t finish. It may take up to 2 weeks for approval. Make sure you don’t remove the ads.
- After the final AdSense approval, you will get a confirmation email.
- Once your AdSense earning reaches $10, AdSense will mail you a PIN to your address.
- Login to your AdSense account, and enter the Pin once you receive it.
- Congrats you have completed all the steps. Once your account reaches $100, Google will send you or wire your earning. I recommend you to enable direct bank transfer for AdSense payments.
Though this will certainly help in domain ownership verification and moreover those who are signing up using someone else website, might find it tough to get into AdSense. If they still reject your account, it’s time to try out AdSense alternatives.
Have you signed up for AdSense recently? How was your experience with the new AdSense approval process?

Hello
As this post says ….Here is the new account approval process:
Ensure your website is compatible with AdSense
Sign up for an AdSense account
Login to your AdSense account
Add the AdSense code
when I log in to my Adsense account I see no tabs just a message that Account Not Active
An AdSense account does not exist for this login, as your application is currently in review
I am very much confused..Adding the Adsense code it part of approval process or it comes after approval or the process has two phases..
Hey Toyaj,
It comes after approval.
Hey harsh, how much traffic do you think a site should generally be getting before one should apply for adsense ..
Cheers !!
Hey ibrahim,
Traffic is not the main factor in getting Adsense approved. read this post on Google AdSense: https://www.shoutmeloud.com/how-to-get-google-adsense-approval-new-blog.html
i have recieved confirmation email of fully approved adsense account but ads are not showing on my blog why?
@Bhanu
It might take few hours. Let me know how it goes for you!
generally ads show in 3 hours ….
i was also facing the same problem above.
After some hours, it started working fine.
hello sir,
Unfortunately your AdSense account was disapproved
Thank you for your interest in Google AdSense. While reviewing your application, we noticed that your site doesn’t comply with our AdSense Program Policies. Please check the email that we’ve sent you for more details.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to accept your application at this time. However, if you’re able to fix the issues on your site, or you want to use a different site, you can reapply below.
What is the solution
3rd april i got the mail from google.. Your application has been successfully reviewed. Now you need to create your first ad unit and place the ad code on funtoosblog.com to fully activate your account..
I have added the first add unit.. But i didn’t get any approval or rejected mail.
So what i have to do.. Apply for new adsence account…?
hello harsh i have a problem its 3days passed i havent got any approval or rejection how can i re apply
@Hemant
You need to wait for email from AdSense team. At times it take more than 3-4 days. Have patience!
Hi.
A great work you have been doing,
My adsense account was disabled but I later got another one with different payee name, But what i don’t know is can I use the bank account details I used for the banned Adsense account on my new adsense account?
NOTE: I removed the payment method 4 days before the account was banned…
HARSH, I am happy because i followed your steps last week. My adsense have been fully activated and i am so excited. Keep on helping others to know the process. If you don’t mind, i may wish to guest post my how i did it. My blog does not have much articles but i got approved. I got rejected so many time but finally God answered.
Hi, Harsh
I applied for adsense last month. I could not complete application process. When I sign in to my adsense account I am getting a message that my adsense account is not active. Why I am getting this error message ?
Initially I have worked with Google Blogger from November 2015. On May 6,2016 I bought a domain in godaddy.com at 4.30pm. and appled for Google Adsense. Google Adsense activated on May 7,2016( It takes lessthan 1 day to activate my site)
Hey @RAVI, can I ask how you did it? The GoDaddy WebsiteBuilder process is outdated on the GoDaddy instructional and recommends using an “app box” instead of the “html code” box. Did you use the HTML code box, and how? Ive been researching for a week and still haven’t found a set step-by-step for this even after talking to GD help they werent that helpful? Thanks
Thanks for the advice Harsh, It really helped ! :)…. I came up with my fresh blog on 12 April 2016.
*24 April 2016 – Failed to get Adsense approval in Step 2 due to insufficient content – 6 Blog Posts.
*30 April 2016 – Didn’t give up, went for a second time. This time with 8 Blog Posts and got my account approved .
*Approval in just 19 days.
So long as one has unique and real content in his/her blog. Adsense approval will come along at the right time.
Adsense is the biggest source of revenue for Google so they will not make adsense too much difficult for approval, sure they will reject your approval if your blog is spam like. To avoid this Take care of these things
– Well written About us page, Contact us page, privacy policy page and sitemap page.
Good quality content is all you need, I have seen many blogger who approved by Adsense with 7 and 12 posts, but there posts were in-depth and well written.
Hi Harsh
I am regular reader of your blog and it inspires me to start my own blog. I started my blog and just 3 days before I apply for ad sense and i got email that “Your application has been successfully reviewed…….” But when I am going to create my first ad unit I got this msg..
“We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are unable to process your request at this time. Our engineers have been notified of this problem and will work to resolve it.”
I didn’t understand what this mean and now what I have to do.
Hi harsh,
my adsense account get approved today and showing on my blog.
i booked domain on 24 of Feb and apply for adsense on 18 April. i got the approval on 20th April.
i think most important 3 factors for adsesne approval are
1. Well design -responsive and fast loading
2.original content – no palagarised or copyrighted content.
3. original information – your name, address etc.
And ya domain age not play specific role for approval. keep in mind before applying these points and you will have
maximum chance of approval
Hey Rahul,
Congratulations for your Adsense approval.
@ Harsh
Thank You So much for sharing your knowledge with us. I got AdSense Full Approval today with 15 days old website. I did all thing as you mentioned in this post. This is very helpful post for me to get AdSense Approval.
I have one new question. It is very strange to me. I have already fully approved adsense account. When I associated it to a blogger custom domain website, it went not active. The message is like follows:
“Account Not Active
An AdSense account does not exist for this login, as your application is currently in review. Within a week of your application date, we’ll review your application and follow-up with you via email. Once you are approved to join AdSense, you’ll be able to log in to your account and get started.”
Please explain what happened. Is every site needs to go for approval process?
It simply means that your website has not went through the first step of verification.. It’s still under review, once that step is completed you will be asked to place an Adcodeon your website for verification. Put the Adcode at the sidebar or use Easy Adsense Plugin(WordPress) Make sure there’s no content in your website that violates Google adsense policy. Once you are done with this step… Your website will be approved! Patience is the key to success 🙂
You didn’t get my point. I had fully approved adsense account. Then why it went so.
BTW, it was technical glitch and Adsense team cleared it when I contacted them using their support email. Thanks to Google team.
that’s one.. i like this information..
can i get AdSense information on my iPhone by SMS..
Hey Harsh,
Im helping a friend with the adsense stuff and I quess we messed-up, I tried everything to get help but nothing seems to work. Maybe you or one of the readers of this blog could help me out.
My friend has a popular youtube account and we applied for adsense, everything was fine. We made the 10 bucks, recieved the PIN and wanted to finish the process. We tried to sign in but my friend has 12 email adresses and we couldnt find any of the right mail/ password combinations. He is an older man who forgets stuff easily. So I decided to make a new aplication using a different mail address connection the same youtube account. I should have never done this because now he has 2 adsense accounts with is not legal. Now he isn’t able to monetize his video’s anymore and he is very depressed. I feel very bad about what I did. Is there anyway i can fix this misstake? Please please please help
Greatings Tim from Amsterdam (sorry for bad english)
@Tim
Having 2 AdSense account won’t be a problem until it’s flagged. Regarding your issue, do you have the ad code related to his account. You can contact AdSense people & tell them the situation. If you provide them the pub- number (Which is in ad code), they might be able to help. Do let me know how it goes.
