Howdy Shouter,
I hope September was fruitful for you.
For ShoutMeLoud, it was great in terms of glory & coverage. Regarding revenue, it was just another month which helped me change our working style a little bit. More on that later…
For now, let me quickly tell you what you can expect from this post.
This post is a part of our transparency culture. It’s here to give you those inside stories which you will never hear anywhere else. It also will help you pick up many tried and tested methods to help you grow your own blogging business.
For newcomers, you can read this post to understand why we publicly reveal such reports every month. In the below link, you can check out the archive of all earlier income & traffic reports.
India Affiliate Summit 2016
I started the month of September on a good note because on the 2nd of September, I had a speaking session at the India Affiliate Summit. This was the second India Affiliate Summit & also the best so far.
Here are some images from the event:
Do you remember ShoutMeet?
Let me quickly detail this for the newcomers. Last year (2015), Sharat & I did an all India road trip by car & organized bloggers meetups in 13+ cities across India. It was one of the best moments I’ve ever had while running ShoutMeLoud.
Well, at the India Affiliate Summit, I got to meet many young guns who attended a ShoutMeet & started blogging immediately after. I was delighted to see the outcome of last year’s efforts.
Here are a couple more images from the India Affiliate Summit.
This one shows most of the brands who were part of this year summit.
It was indeed a great start of the month.
Join me at Affiliate Summit West 2017: Las Vegas, U.S.
Do you remember when I posted about my experience of attending Affiliate Summit West 2016? If you missed reading about it, you can do so by clicking on the below link:
ShoutMeLoud at Affiliate Marketing Summit 2016: Experience & Takeaways
Next year, Affiliate Summit West is taking place on January 15-17, 2017.
What’s more exciting is that this year I will be attending as a speaker!
Here are the details of my session:
- Session Title: How To Growth Hack Affiliate Earnings of Your Blog
- Date: Sunday, January 15
- Venue: Paris Las Vegas Hotel
- Time: 2:30pm-3:00pm
If you are in the U.S., or you can travel to the U.S., you shouldn’t miss attending this event. You can purchase the tickets at a discounted price until October 28th. The price starts at only $99.
Note: If you don’t have a U.S. visa, you don’t need to worry about it. The invitation letter from their team will help you get the visa without any issue.
Best India Blog Award: 28th September 2016
This was another big highlight of last month. I have already shared about the gala night in detail earlier.
Here are two more unpublished images from the event:
This year, the award was picked up by our team member @Sharatnik.
Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Charusat University, Gujarat
On 29th September, I delivered a speech on “Entrepreneurship & Innovation” at Charusat University for their annual event #Congnizance.
I believe I have some extra affection for Gujarat as I never miss a chance to visit the Jewel of Western India.
Well, that was the last picture, so let’s move on and talk about a few things that I’m changing for the month of October.
With so many activities, the work definitely got affected a bit. This can clearly be seen in the stagnant income report below. This is why I’ve decided not to undertake any more speaking gigs in the months of October & November.
Also, for these two months, I will be working from a co-working space in Gurgaon. The plan is to focus on ShoutUniversity & ding the conversion optimization for all of our blogs including ShoutMeLoud.
Well, now it’s time for the monthly traffic & revenue report.
ShoutMeLoud September 2016 Traffic Report:
ShoutMeLoud is constantly receiving close to 1.5 million page views/month. This doesn’t include traffic we are getting on the ShoutMeLoud forum, or our iOS & Android apps.
81% of our traffic is from search engines & this is what helps us the most.
In the month of July, I did some tweaking to drive traffic from Pinterest & it’s been working great for us. However, the bounce rate is pretty high for Pinterest traffic.
The below image will give you an idea of the geolocation of our traffic:
ShoutMeLoud Android App
Our Android app is more popular than our iOS App & in the below image you can see how well it’s performing:
We had the plan to launch some exciting updates last month, but due to mismanagement, it got delayed. We are hoping to release some cool features such as user management & some other stuff in the coming months.
ShoutMeLoud Forum
Two months back I hired a full-time community manager for our forum, and Nikhil is doing a great job to grow the community. The forum traffic is growing, but more than that, experienced & newbie members are finding a platform to interact with each other.
Here are the most active members of our forum:
If you haven’t joined our forum yet, you should. The best part is our forum works great even on mobile browsers. This way you can engage with community members even when you are traveling.
Well, this is more or less what happened with us in the month of September.
Like always, I will be sharing my learnings & experiences here at ShoutMeLoud.
Here are top posts of September that you shouldn’t miss:

So much revenue, This is definitely a shocker for me. When you say revenue generated from Direct ads, does this mean or include Google Adsense? Or do you use a a different ad portal? Also, I’m wondering if you have summits like this in India? You are truly an inspiration keep up the good work..
@Sarge
We had one summit in the first week of September. Next time whenever such summit will happen will share about it on ShoutMeLoud. If you can make it to Las Vegas for Affiliate Summit, it would be awesome for you.
You are truly inspiration for other bloggers. It is very unbelievable that blogger can earn this kind of revenue and can do this business in mainstream.
Nothing is impossible Bharat,
This is a result of years of hard work and, anyone can do it. You just have to believe in yourself and work your way up.
