How To Start Using Geni.us for Optimizing Amazon Earnings:
The concept of Geni.us is brilliant for any internet marketer & I really like the way they’ve made it easy for anyone to get started. The onboarding is simple & once you have created a trial account, you can straight away track how effective this service is going to be for you.
Connect Affiliate Program
You need to copy/paste your Amazon affiliate link to let Geni.us auto-detect the country you are signed up for in the Amazon affiliate program.
Note: Copy your affiliate URL from the address bar & paste it as shown in the above screen. It will auto detect the location, but do cross-check before clicking on “Connect this Program”.

- Javascript method:
This is the easiest method that works with every platform including BlogSpot. All you need to do is add the lines of code just before the closing </body> or </head> tag. You can use the Google Tag Manager to manage all such tags from one place.
If you have multiple websites, do take advantage of the “Group” feature.
- WordPress Plugin (Amazon Link Engine):
If you are a WordPress blogger like me, you can use the official Geni.us Amazon link plugin. All you need to do is create an API key from your Geni.us account & configure the WordPress plugin with your API key.
After this, all existing links will be automatically redirected to the affiliate program.

Chrome Add-on
They also have a Chrome Add-on which lets you create the Geni.us link directly from the product page. This is useful when you don’t want to use Javascript or the WordPress plugin.
My Amazon Income Stats After Using Geni.us for 30 Days:
Before using Geni.us, I was only linking to the Amazon.com store. Once I integrated Geni.us, I started sending traffic to all the Amazon stores based on a user’s geo-location. In the below graph, you can see the distribution based on click destination.

You can use this for any amount of product. If you are worried about charges as its based on clicks, you can consider using Onelink program from Amazon which is free.

That’s an interesting question and as a lot of users are not adding value and just dropping links for the commission, this gives a bad reputation to anyone monetizing from Affiliate marketing.
The only solution is the mindset and how you present your work. If you ae regularly adding value for your readers, they will see it and will start trusting you. It takes a lot of time and effort and that’s what the fun of blogging is. Is int it?

What is the need of using third party paid plugins. Amazon provide a wordpress plugin and they also launched Oneclick for geotargeting clents to their nearest amazon stores.

One thing to watch out for is that Amazon’s OneLink service doesn’t work with adblockers. So if someone is using an adblocker (more and more people do), then you won’t be seeing any commissions from that person. Once I recognized that, I immediately stopped using OneLink.
