This will be interesting for every PayPal account holder. You now have the chance to earn up to $100 by referring people to PayPal.

For those that don’t know, PayPal is one of the most popular web tools for people who work online & need to get paid.

Back in the days when PayPal started, they used to have a referral program that offered people $20 if they opened an account and $20 if they referred someone. However, PayPal then became so popular that it completely removed its referral program.

For the past several years, PayPal was undoubtedly the winner of online payment system services. However, in the past two years or so, things have changed & many new players are coming into this field every day. The number of PayPal alternatives are increasing; we also can’t ignore the popularity of Bitcoin in the past few years.

I can’t claim that these are why PayPal is bringing back its referral program, but it would make sense.

Regardless of the reasons, the PayPal referral program is back.

PayPal referral program: Earn $10 for every referred user

The PayPal referral program is available for anyone who has a U.S. PayPal account in good standing. If this sounds like you, let’s go ahead & learn how you can earn up to $10 by inviting others to join PayPal.

Here is how PayPal referral program works:

You should also note that the users who are joining on your invitation will also be getting $10 when they open a U.S. PayPal account & complete an eligible transaction within 14 days of signing up.

An “eligible transaction” means an online checkout payment of at least $100 USD which gets marked as “complete” in the referee’s account and which has not been cancelled, refunded, or reversed by either the referee or the seller.

Before I add more, let me show you how to get your PayPal referral link.

As I mentioned above, this option is available for anyone who has a PayPal account in good standing.

Steps for getting referral link:

  • Save
  • Click on “Share an invite” or “Choose contacts” if you want to directly invite contact from your phone.

If you need your referral link for posting on a blog or message board, click on “Share an invite” & select your email. Send an email to yourself & you will have your personal PayPal referral link.

I have tested & verified this on my U.S. PayPal account & it works seamlessly.

Here are a few fine points about the PayPal affiliate program:

  • You can earn maximum of $100.
  • Your referee must use your link to sign up and receive international payments of at least US $100* within 45 days of signing up
  • Here are the complete terms.

If you post your referral link on any third party website, such as a social media website, you must also comply with that website’s terms of use.

Please note that whenever you decide to share your referral link, you must tell your referees that you will receive a commission from PayPal if they sign up and complete an eligible transaction. Failure to disclose this information violates the terms and could result in PayPal disqualifying you from the program, and may result in you giving up any rewards you would otherwise have earned through the program.

If this is your first time becoming a part of such a program, read our earlier guide on FTC affiliate disclosures.

It’s a good time for U.S. PayPal users to get a chance to earn up to $100 by recommending other users.

Is there any offers for Indian users like this

  3. Karan

Once Time Again Benefit To US People…..Paypal Seems To Be Not Interested To Give Benefit To Indian Users 🙁

Fact Is Ths It’s Still It’s A Best Platform 🙂

    Hi Harsh,

The PayPal referral program is back with less commission compared with old time.
There are now some payment processors that offer higher referral commissions.

    For Example: Payoneer

Maybe one day when Payoneer becomes popular, they will remove their referral program completely too as what PayPal did.

This is so exciting. It could really become another income generating scheme. Paypal is very important most specially when paying online..

  6. Vishal Jain

It’s good that PayPal also has started the referral program. But I feel bad, since I am using PayPal for last 4-5 years and this referral program is not for Indian holders 🙁
Hope they will start this program for non-US users as well 😛

  7. Shrinivas

Nice offer from PayPal but it would be good if they allow Indian transactions, that would be a great offer for Indian freelancers.

  8. Ajit Saini

Thanks a great news for all online payees living in US.

    Hi Harsh,

Great to know about this Paypal program. This seems to be a great information for U.S PayPal account holders. Your blog always tries to share unique information. Thanks for sharing.

Wow this is good news! Would it be possible in the future that they will offer this to non US card holder?

    1. Karim Toulba

      They probably will.

I’m using a non-us PayPal account. PayPal Me has been made available for other countries as well in a short period of time. It was earlier only available for US accounts only.

Thanks Harsh for the awesome news. It will be very soon available for many other non-us account holders.

      All the best!

I don’t like PayPal. I know they are trying to protect their community but it’s affecting other things.

In my country, you can only send money with your PayPal account. You cannot receive money with it. So what’s the use?

Don’t even try opening a USA account from another country because you can get banned for insane reasons no matter the amount in your PayPal account.

  15. Sam

Thanks for Sharing!! But, I am not based on USA..

  16. Alice Elliott

PayPal need to get their act together and start working again on payment systems on websites first before anyone will want to refer to them. I’m recommending other systems now that PayPal refuses to work with Tickera and other related plugins.

  17. David

This is no good to me living in the UK is it?!

    1. Harsh Agrawal

Ha ha. @David if you considering because of this offer, I feel the same. 😉

  18. Kegesa Danvas Abdullah

This is excellent Harsh. I have a few questions.

How can I get a US verified Paypal account when I am from another country?

Does it mean that once you have referred friends and earned up to $100, then you no longer earn from any further referrals?

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Kegesa
That’s tough & I won’t recommend that as most of the aftermarket tricks can lead to the ban of your account. The solution is to open a U.S. bank account which requires a lot of work.
Regarding $100 question, yes you are right. You won’t be earning money after $100 referrals.

    Hello
Excellent news and announcements about PayPal referral program.
Unfortunately, I`m not based on U.S. and I can`t benefit from this program
However, I`m still enjoying the other benefits that are offered by PayPal.
    Thanks so much
    -Omar
