One of the essential elements of SEO is picking the right keyword via Keyword research, making them rank & track the keyword position in the search.
It is absolutely necessary for a blogger or SEO professional to check their Google keyword ranking for target keywords. One of the most common mistakes bloggers and website administrators make is that they write and publish articles without targeting any keywords at all.
It takes only 10-15 minutes to use keyword research tools like Semrush or the KWfinder to find which keywords to use. Make sure you take advantage of these tools in order to accomplish this very important step!

Once you are finished writing an SEO-optimized post using your target keywords, your next task is to keep track of its search engine rankings and to continue building backlinks with the proper anchor text.
**Again, proper keyword selection is one of the main factors involved in achieving a better ranking in Google’s search engine.**
Every blogger must aim to use the keywords which users search the most, especially those keywords which will help your website show up on one of the first few pages of search results.
If you accomplish proper on-page SEO, chances are good that you will appear in the first 50 search results.
To improve your SEO, you must manage keywords properly so that you can find out which keywords are strong for your particular domain and which are not. This information allows you to work on using the strongest keywords, thus increasing your likelihood of getting a better ranking in Google and other search engines.
To accomplish this goal, you need a tool that can tell you where a specific keyword ranks in Google’s search results without manually going through hundreds of search results and pages.
To help you do this, we have compiled a list of some excellent free online tools to check your target keyword position in Google.

I used to use SERP’s rank checker, and even built integrated excel sheets to automate my workflow for my client. However, it hasn’t worked for a while. I have written to their tech and not received a reply back, and even signed up for an account to see if the paid version worked. Unfortunately, no. It is a shame. It was an excellent tool for the research I performed for my clients and their SEO.

Hi Harsh,
Thanks for your great article.
I have a quick question: I have searched a specific keyword on one of the keyword ranking websites (SEOCentro) and the resulting rank for my domain is 2 however, when I search the keyword on Google search engine, it came up as rank 5.
My concern is, which site is more convincing? Could it be possible that Google will only pick up the latest ranking a little bit later than SEOCentro?
Regards
@Mandy
One factor that really matters is for which geo-location are you searching for. Your Keyword ranking would differ based on Google country based search. Especially when you are logged in & searching for Keyword ranking, it would differ a lot. One reason is; you would see few social media posts (G+) too in the ranking, which others (Keyword rank checker websites) might not see.
You need to check keyword ranking based on your target country.
how we can check keyword ranking in target country
@Girdhar
You can use Accuranker which lets you set Search Engine, Locale and Location. (I have added the screenshot above)
These are all really great tools! I use SERPs rank checker for quick one-off checking and AHREFS for regular long term projects. I like AHREFS because it gives me the keyword tracking and link building progress snapshot all in one place.

Nice list of tools. Will try SEMrush.
I like the 3rd tool Google rank checker very much. Gives accurate results for major countries listed. I have to check 3 countries for my websites and this tool is easy to use and always reliable. By the way iwebtool.com is down please remove it from the list. Their website is closed forever it seems. Thanks for this list very useful for me.
I usually prefer google tools because it’s free and trusted, but way you put Semrush number 1 on the list, is there any reason of this ? or it’s just your subjectivity, I also use Simple rank checker which recommended by my friend, it’s quite an easy tools too. anyway tank’s for the post god bless.
Position tracking in Google Search Console doesn’t seem accurate. I’m thinking some people in the company are logged into a browser with the business listing favorited and search keywords causing the website to display (and be recorded) at the top position. Still, maybe it should be on this list.
SEMrush is a complete solution offering more than position ranking. Try out the free trial to see what it has.
