WordPress is not only a CMS (content management system) – it is also a means of earning a living for many people.

Many web-developers, bloggers, and freelancers are making a good living from their use of WordPress, by selling themes, plugins, services, or consultancy. And for those who are not into development, WordPress can also be used to earn money through product promotion.

What this means is that you can endorse someone’s product with your unique tracking link (affiliate link), and you will get a commission from the associated sales.

Particularly if you are blogging on WordPress, you can easily recommend a premium product that you are using (most of the premium WordPress products have an affiliate program), and when a user buys the product based on your referral, you will make money.

The affiliate commission could be anywhere from $1-$500 per product.

How do I know that?

From last 10+ years, this is how I’m making money from my blog.

I have shared a lot of these tricks, and strategies on ShoutUniversity Affiliate marketing course . ✅

However today, I’m sharing top WordPress affiliate programs. Most of these affiliate programs are open to everyone, so you can join all of them and promote the ones that best suit your taste and style.

You can refer to my guide on how to promote affiliate products on your blog to get a better understanding of how you can promote these WordPress premium products to earn affiliate commission.

Recommended WordPress Products for Affiliate Marketing:

WordPress affiliate products can be classified into one of the following categories:

  • WordPress Themes Affiliate Program
  • WordPress Plugins Affiliate Program
  • WordPress Shared Hosting Affiliate Program
  • WordPress Managed Hosting Affiliate Program
  • WordPress Backup, Security, Maintainance Affiliate Programs

Before I share my list, here are a few things that you need to know:

  1. Get a PayPal account. Most of these affiliate programs offer payment via PayPal. If you don’t have a PayPal account, get one now.
  2. If you are using any particular premium WordPress product and you don’t see the affiliate program overview in this list, simply Google “product name + affiliate program“, and you will find the details of the affiliate program for that product.
  3. Join all of them! Joining all of these affiliate programs is easy and free. I suggest you join all of them and get on their mailing lists. This way you will receive their latest coupon codes, promotional materials, and useful insights about their products. You may not be promoting all of the products, but the affiliate promotional information you will get from the emails will be very useful.

Let’s get on with our list! Here are some of the most popular WordPress affiliate programs which you can promote on your blog (and earn a handsome income).

WordPress Themes Affiliate Programs

Unlike in the past, there are currently tons of WordPress premium theme affiliate programs out there.

I have worked with a few of them for my WordPress theme blog and also for ShoutMeLoud. Based on my personal experience, I’m sharing the ones that I believe are the best.

Genesis Themes:

Genesis Theme Affiliate program

Genesis is one of the top WordPress theme frameworks out there, and many bloggers swear by it.

Undoubtedly, with the unfortunate downfall of the Thesis theme, Genesis turned out to be the most popular theme framework. Unlike other theme networks, Genesis is priced on the higher side and is mostly used by professional bloggers or serious online businesses.

Genesis’s framework and skins are quite easy to promote, as the company has a great brand name in the market. With one quick (and smart) promotion, you can earn a significant amount of money.

  • You will get 35% commission on every sale
  • The program is managed by ShareASale, and the payout is via bank transfer or ACH.
  • 60-day cookies

In my opinion, Genesis is the best, but there are many more that you can join, including the:

What WordPress Theme Affiliate program:

Do you have readers who want to know what WordPress theme is being used by a blog? Well just by telling them about What WordPress theme will increase your chances to earn affiliate commission.

  • Save

Currently, this works with themes from ThemeForest, Elegant Themes, MyThemeShop, TemplateMonster. Both ThemeForest & TemplateMonster have tons of great WordPress themes.

WordPress Plugins Affiliate Programs

When it comes to premium WordPress plugins, the list is endless.

I have promoted a few in the past to earn a few thousand dollars, but there is not a single plugin that you can stick with for a long period. The WordPress premium plugins marketplace is very competitive, and every day a new or better product emerges.

So if you are trying to get into the plugins promotion niche, you need to be active in knowing which products are currently the best on the market and how they work.

  • Tip: WordPress plugins have a limited time in the marketplace, and you need to sign-up individually for most of these products. A majority of these plugins are sold via ClickBank, which is easier to link to directly. You should search for these product affiliate programs manually, or try to find a high-selling plugin to promote in an affiliate marketplace.

Because of this, I’m going to list those marketplaces where you can find new, high-quality plugins to promote.

Themeisle Affiliate Program:

    Hi Harsh,

This is really very valuable article.

I have one question regarding ipage and fatcow affiliate programs. They are asking to fill a Tax IRS Form W-8BEN for Non-US residents.

How to fill that? Which information to put exactly there?

  3. Hi Harsh. Thank you for your great list. Harsh, I have a doubt, Shall we have to give no follow link attribute to an affiliate link in our post?

  4. Hey Harsh.

Thanks for the list. Did you heard about jvzoo.com? I just joined as an affliate. But, some sites are saying jvzoo is scam. What’s your opinion?

    Thanks.

    Akhil

  5. This is very very helpful & informative. I was always confused how affiliate program works & how we promote products but after reading this article, I realized that its easy to start this business by just putting hard work on it. Well I’m going to try this now & I hope it works.

    Hey Harsh!
I am a new and frequent reader of your blog, and I love your writing. I used to print your articles with the print friendly addon but now it is not available, I have to use the Chrome Extension for that purpose now. You should add it back to make your Blog more user friendly.

  7. ya that’s an awesome post ..I am doing Jvzoo , Click bank and warriar plus …as I do by simply promoting this offer by solo ads ..

  8. Hey Harsh, There are many fans recommend your blog and you from Bangladesh. Thanks for sharing your outstanding list. I’m going to create an niche review site of WordPress products. As you mentioned, most of the affiliate program pay via PayPal. But you know PayPal isn’t available in Bangladesh. As a newbie what should I do.

I should mention that there are various options available to create an PayPal account from Bangladesh. But none of those are legal. My PayPal account has restricted with $70 three months ago. Is there live any legal option for such a person like me?

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Anwar
I can understand your problem, and it’s seriously sad that PayPal is not yet in Bangladesh. I hope they do launch their services in Bangladesh. For now what you can do is:
      Join these affiliate programs
Usually after joining you will get the welcome email or on the sign up page, you can find the email of the program affiliate manager. You can email them & ask for an alternative payment option. Tell them your plan of opening a Niche based WordPress site. Or you can also wait for few days until you make initial sales, and mail them. (The 2nd option will have better response from the affiliate managers).
You can use Payoneer or any other PayPal alternative which is available in your country. Do share what you did, and how you solved this problem.

      1. Thanks for helpful replying. I have Payoneer account. So, I should contact affiliate manager directly.

Great Article. Thanks for the info. Does anyone know where I can find a blank “2014 IRS W-8BEN, [2-2014]” to fill out?

Even though Clickbank is the best market place to pick products and sell them in ease, I think being a Theme affiliate is a great idea too.
And if you’re promoting the Theme or I want to know that can anyone can get affiliate programs. And how much it has benefits to any WordPress blog Surprisingly my most productive affiliate product is not in the above list “Aweber” …that too with passive income

  11. Hi Harsh, thanks for the informative post. I am currently loving clickbank, especially for digital products. I want to widen my product base, so which program would you recommend for a large variety of digital products?

  12. This it a well researched list. Glad to see so many contributors, I thought I should drop a line as well.

I am the co-founder of ShortPixel image optimization plugin for WordPress and we just launched our affiliate program (yesterday, to be more exact). Our plans range from $10 to $99, and your commission is 50% form each sale.

I can also recommend ThemeIsle for their program – 55% comission.

  17. Hi Harsh.
    How are you?
I was searching on Google for…
    premium wordpress themes affiliate program
    and your post came up
    2nd on the first page
    For that search
    For 8,11,000 results.
Just wanted to let you know
    Enjoy your weekend.
    Regards.

  18. Harsh, When you update/bump old posts, it’s a great Idea to upgrade all the screenshots. We know know some stat’s from 3 years ago. Things may have changed for you.

Some affiliate programs, they redesigned there whole entire business including there backend affiliate pages. I love the blog post but images out of date. StudioPress did a total overhaul of there design including our member area.

Showing 2013 income stat’s in your screenshot does not impress me. You know the amount someone earns each month in commission’s changes each month. Yes your income stat’s are awesome but let’s have more up-to-date shots rather then showing big income stat’s from 3 years ago. It’s not hard to tell this blog post was bumped and not written from scratch.

  19. Your mention 3 hosting company is no doubt good for own hosting plan and affiliate program also. But I go through another best hosting company which is InMotion Hosting. Compared to other hosting companies I think InMotion is the best for hosting and affiliate program also. What is your view about InMotion hosting?
