Referral programs & affiliate programs are two sides of the same coin.

In a referral program, instead of earning hard cash, you earn points (or other non-monetary value) which you can utilize to buy products on the same network.

Here is an infographic from Refferalcandy that explains the differences & similarities:

Once you join the Amazon Associates program, you can link to any of the products listed on Amazon & earn money across the entire site.

  • Highly reputed network.
  • Getting started is easy and you will find tons of guides & videos.
  • Numerous products related to travelers & traveling.
  • Higher commission as you start referring more users.

Danielle

    Hello there!
this is a very useful article and Once we have that targeted traffic, it’s time to do some monetizing activities around the blog. Truth is that most will always depend on the expertise of others to know what works and what doesn’t thanks for sharing a great post.

  8. Santanu

Thats a great guide to make money from affiliate marketing in Travel niche. I am using shareasale affiliate marketing platform and really found them as best place for various affiliate marketing companies in any niche. Although the life of travel bloggers are hectic, but I think they are living the awesome life many of us are dreaming to live.

  9. Anne

The thing to remember is that the commissions are paid as a percentage of the company’s profit. Not of the sale. So 50% on a hotel booking of $100 isn’t $50. It’s usually just a couple of bucks.
It’s a very competitive niche and you have to be passionate about traveling to succeed.

  10. Louis

These are definitely great affiliate programs for beginners but some programs will take down your account if new bloggers find hard to generate sales.

  11. shafiullah

  16. Enstine Muki

Awesome post to help travel bloggers make money Harsh.
Now, know it’s always difficult to get to that point where your blog can sponsor itself and help you clear some of your bills.

Once we have that targeted traffic, it’s time to do some monetizing activities around the blog. Truth is that most will always depend on the expertise of others to know what works and what doesn’t.

I think this is great post that puts together a couple of options for travel bloggers to see positive results.

Do have an exciting weekend buddy

  17. Rupak Biswas

I have great passion for travel and so this post is a great inspiration to tie it up with my love for blogging. While the 7 others are directly related to travel, the Amazon affiliate program seems to be generic, not specifically related to travel alone (though a good option for travel bloggers).

    I’m bookmarking this.

  18. Shibam Kar

Harsh Sir, Really great ad networks for travel blogger. Thanks for your detailed and informative post. Thanks for sharing.

  19. Vikal Singh

    Hi Harsh,

These are the good affiliate program for a blogger & any other. HotalCombined is also a good affiliate program in travel & hotel series.

    Thanks for this Post!!!

  20. Derek

Wow, you just saved my butt. A few times on a different forum I am on, this question has come up and I couldn’t find anything good to reply with that would help that person. This blog post is now the one I will link to in the future. Lot’s of bloggers in this niche because they are experts in it and well love traveling but they find it hard to make money off it other then AdSense which doesn’t always pay well or a long time solution for passive income.

TripAdvisor I use all the time when I am looking to travel. It’s the best place I trust when I am looking to travel out of state. Didn’t even know they had an affiliate program till now. Do you use any above for when you do traveling?

It’s ashame I don’t have the right type of audience to join one of these to try to make money. Lot’s of programs you shared. This helps your subscribers for sure.
