WordPress Insights Plugin : Quickly Interlink Blog Post

When you have a huge blog, internal linking become tough if you are not using some auto Internal-link plugin like SEO smart link. But it’s a paid plugin and for free solution we have WordPress Insight plugin. This plugin works at WordPress post editor and helps in quickly link your blog post within your blog. Also, if you understand the importance of outbound links for SEO, this plugin is going to be very useful.

What is WordPress insights plugin:

With latest version of WordPress, we got the features to add internal link by search, but I never found it to be very helpful.  WordPress insights plugin is one of those plugin, which will make the manual internal linking painless and quick. In this plugin, you can search for term in search box of insights plugin (Complete detail below) and it will search your blog for relevant content. Though default search is not very effective, so I use Google search option in this plugin to find the post. I use following search query

“Keyword” site:shoutmeloud.com

WordPress Inisights plugin

Once you have found the desire post, simply select the word from post editor and click on link to add link. Another major benefit, which this plugin gives is you can quickly add relevant links from Wikipedia, Google blogs and many more.

If you still unaware of benefits of interlinking you should seriously need to read my previous posts on

Interlinking provide you SEO advantages and also it will help you to decrease the bounce rate of your blog.

Download and install Insight plugin from author site and when you write article you will see a box like this and you can quickly interlink your blog post

Here is  a quick video which will let you know how you can use WordPress insights plugin

I personally, use SEO smart link for automated linking and this plugin for manual linking. When ever you are linking, make sure your links to pointing to meaningful article. Never add intenal link, just for the sake of it. Also, always add anchor text with variation, while linking to your article.

Do you know more plugins like WP Insights, which will make interlinking fast and quick?

Meanwhile why don’t you share any less known useful wordpress plugin which every one would like to add into their wordpress blog?

    Harsh,

I’ve had SEO Smart links pro for a long time now and I must be using it wrong. How did you, for example, in this post, link to “decrease the bounce rate”? Didnt you have to do that manually or add it to the custom list (since the slug doesn’t match)? I always wonder how larger blogs (we have about 5K posts) manage the interlinking. For the life of me I cant find a plugin that helps writers link to related articles, unless I’m using smart links wrong – so I thought I’d ask. Thanks in advance

      @Mark
I use manual linking too….as it helps in adding relevant content to the post….
Regarding SEO smart link, when I add a post I add it into SEO smart link with many Keyword like for this post, I will use
WordPress insights, Manual Interlinking, Manual Internallink, Insights|URL

It’s a time consuming process but once you make it a habit after every post, it will be easier..Or you can set a weekly time for adding links in Smart link.

Thanks so much for replying. Yeah the problem for me is that we have multiple writers and it’s already hard to make sure they do all the other manual things that we ask them to do. I just with there was something that could do it automatically based off less of an exact search. I did download insight so that was a helpful suggestion. Thanks again.

Wow this is a really nice find, I need to check it out and see what happens with all of your links if you un-install this plugin.

I guess it should not create any difference.. Since those links which are interlinked are not called by this plugin after interlinking. Though I’m not very sure..but based on how this plugin is working.. Should not create any such problem.

But Is there any plugin or hack like this for Windows Live Writer…. ??

There is a Related Posts Finder for WLW but that’s based on Feed items not keywords.

Plz Do write something about interlinking posts in a better way for WLW.
