I have talked about Aweber over here, and let me quickly show you some of the features of Aweber, later on, I will share the closest alternatives to Aweber.

Aweber was started especially for email marketing and to provide an email newsletter. The process is simple and lets me quickly explain it to newbies. You sign up for Aweber, Create a signup form, place an Email sign-up form on your blog and start building your email list. Now you have complete control over your email list, and you can decide when to send out new updates to your Email subscriber. The best part about Aweber is, it’s easier to understand the dashboard and work on it. What separates Aweber from others is its features and the support offered by them.

Aweber has many useful features like:

  • 400+ ready-made newsletter templates.
  • Responsive Email templates
  • RSS to EMAIL options.
  • Traffic and Click monitoring.
  • Integration on almost any script.
  • Advanced HTML auto responders facility.
  • Android & iOS Mobile app (Atom & Aweber stats)
  • Free account

You can take a free test drive of Aweber for the first month which will let you send unlimited emails and create a list of up to 500 subscribers. Once you have made a list of 500 email subscribers, the updated price would be:

SubscribersMonthly Price (Billed Monthly)Monthly Price (Billed Annually)

List of  Aweber Alternatives Auto-responder

This list is not in any particular order, and I have listed the price and pros-cons of every alternative email marketing tool here.

1. ConvertKit

2024 is the year of segmentation & tagging. This is one area where Aweber is catching up but I still find it to be too old for our taste. It would take time for me to shift away from Aweber but you have a chance to pick something which is modern & offers up to date email marketing techniques such as tagging, Segmentation, and automation.

ConvertKit is one of those email marketing services that you would hear about a lot in 2023-2024. If you have an eBook or a membership site, you are good to pick this as your email marketing friend.

It works well with all popular services such as Zapier, OptinMonster, Gumroad, Leadpages, and WordPress to name a few. It starts at $19.99/month for up to 500 subscribers & it’s pretty solid with the automation features.

2. GetResponse

  1. I am only using MailChimp for now. Will compare other alternatives and see how it goes. Thanks for this wonderful list.

  2. Mukesh

I was on Aweber for close to 3 years and had been using them for my list of 8k subscribers. Always found their automation capabilities limited, open rates low and cost to be on the higher side.

Last year is when I moved my blog learn-automation.com from Aweber to SendX and my open rates have been better. Also using their hello bar and popups my list is now over 25k+ subscribers. Used their drips and web push notifications too.

    Strongly recommend.

  3. Loretta

MailChimp doesn’t really like people who do affiliate marketing using their email service, they will close your account and kick you out, so if you plan to monetize with affiliate promotions of any sort I wouldn’t recommend using that one.

  4. Darren

Mailchimp sucks a lot, because they simply suspend you due to using an automated algorithm to scan your emails….and then they don’t respond at all, and their auto email tells you that you are free to go elsewhere. They really do not care about you at all. And they hate affiliate marketing very much, and have very strict TOS, which leads to a lot of false positives from their stupid algo. Not that it matters, because they have zero support and they just don’t give a damn about you. Very bad experience with Mailchimp.

  5. Vu Tran

I would recommend using SendPulse with free service. It provides more subscribers than MailChimp. You can send more free emails per month as well.
And it is the best: It is super easy to use with drag and drop fashion.

  6. Vincent Nyagaka

I prefer Constant Contact. Its really quite cool for me.

  7. Ved Mehra

Aweber is an expensive option if one requires basic autoresponder facility. These alternatives are worth testing.

  8. Ben

I really like GetResponse. They also have marketing automation, which is pretty cool.

  9. Soniya Pradhan

Great Write up. I am using MailGet right now and it is also a good alternative to AWeber as it has more features and less price as compare to AWeber.

  10. Nathan Elward

Nice post Sagar.. Very comprehensive, up to date and well written. It is always nice to explore alternatives. You never know what surprises could be waiting for you. I have tried Mailchimp briefly.. But now with EasySendy Pro.. They are a platform which allows using various SMTP relay service providers so that I could ensure all of my subscriber lists way to reach the viewers. This also helped when I wanted reach country specific mailboxes. Few of their relay providers are Amazon SES, Sparkpost, Mailgun, Sendgrid etc. EasySendy Pro also lets me send targeted emails for a few niche sections in my industry, by micro segmenting my subscribers. And to ensure my emails are opened they allow Re-engagement to gently motivate my prospects to open and read my mails. They have free plans to start with to try out campaigns plus Test campaigns and email templates to check spam scores. Their least price starts with unbelievably just $19 a month with 10k subscribers to whom we can send 5 emails per second and 2 delivery servers to choose from. This is the same plan I started with EasySendy Pro. This should be the one next on your review checklist. Thanks, Nathan 🙂

Oh! Happy to see that GetResponse made it to the list. I started using it recently and I’m quite impressed.

  12. Kavi

Indeed Aweber is great tool. But it’s pricing is high for a new blogger like me. Now I see Mailchimp as the better alternative to Aweber. I should try it.

Thanks for this very useful info!

  13. Tony B

In it’s day aweber was a great tool – but it’s 2015 and CRM’s have evolved tremendously.

I am a recent new convert from aweber to Active Campaign. Functions and usability with Active Campaign are IMO a far better and flexible option. Segmenting rules, follow-up, autoresponder are all included and a few other really cool features. The benefits are awesome if you just look at teh money saved compared to Aweber.

The only way to describe the interface is ‘intuitive’,

cheers for sharing Sagar but had to holla about AC :o)

    1. Adam Kaan

thanks, I’m looking for an alternative to mailchimp which is not user freindly at all an very confusing even for someone like me with some experience html, css and computers.

      1. Harsh Agrawal

Try ActiveCampaign. It’s modern & something that could transform your business via email marketing.

  14. Michael

AWeber and other autoresponders give their pricing in terms of number of subscribers. If one takes a package for say 500 subscribers and more come in, for example 5000, will Aweber cut off those from 501 to 5000 or will they simply bill one more for the higher number?

    Thanks for your responses.

  15. Prasad

I am seeing in Aweber even for 500 subscriber the monthly cost is 19$. Just need more information regarding the monthly premium for less than 500 subscriber.

    1. Harsh Agrawal

Do check out Sendy. It’s way cheaper than Aweber other alternatives.

  16. Virgie

Does anyone know if Getresponse has a simple squeeze page? I see landing page on the list but not squeeze.

  17. Edos Ubebe

I am having some issues with my network and that is affecting my getresponse account and I’m planning of moving another email marketing company. Which do you recommend I use please?

  18. Kevin

I manage email marketing for several clients. Constant Contact is good for the clients who do not want a custom template and need an easy to use template editing and sending platform. My Mail Chimp clients are ones who like an extremely customized template – they tend to be a little more tech savvy then the Constant Contact crowd. My self and two other clients are then on e-blasting.com because we like to do texting along side our email marketing. So each platform does have a specific demographic.

  19. Harris

I only have experience with Aweber and Mailchimp. I use Mailchimp on quite a few of my websites–haven’t had a problem with them yet, so they get my vote.

    You provided nice info.!
