Being a blogger, we should not limit ourselves to one way of monetization. If you have seen How To Make Money Blogging (The Practical Guide), you will realize along with Adsense we use many other methods to make money from our sites.

Today, we will learn about In-text advertising and I will share some of the best In text advertisement networks that you can consider joining.

January 2020 update:

A lot has changed recently and I have updated this post with latest information. In-Text ads are no more as profitable as it used to be and a lot of networks have been dying. Affiliate marketing or using something like Viglink has taken over and thats the route you should be taking.

ShoutMeLoud has covered lots of tips to make money through advertisements. It doesn’t make much difference that it is Banner Ads, Affiliate ads or ln-text Ads, you just need to follow few tips and tricks to earn through advertisements.

When it comes to In-text Ads, I prefer to blend it properly with blog layout in order to make it a lucrative method to earn a good amount. Also, intext advertisement uses Javascript, so the presence of advertisement won’t hurt your site SEO.

One of the most common questions asked by people is: In-text advertising compatibility with AdSense and to let you know, I have used VigLink on a few websites for years along with AdSense and never had any issue.

In short, you can use in-text ads along with Google AdSense.

There are many options available for ln-text Ads, but I won’t suggest you give a hit and trial method for ln-text Ads. You can find few options provided by good Advertisers such as VigLink which I have also covered in my earlier post about Alternatives to Google Adsense.

Popular In-text Advertising Programs to make money from your blog:

Viglink works on a different model and unlike another In-text advertising network, Viglink converts your normal link into an affiliate link. Saying that instead of earning few cents/click, with Viglink you can earn much more with affiliate commission. Viglink is partnered with many existing affiliate network and it converts your normal link into affiliate links. Don’t worry about SEO, it won’t make any difference in SEO.

For example: If you write about App store product and you are not an Apple affiliate, Viglink will convert your link into aff. link and when a reader buys the app, you will get a commission out of it. I tried this network on ShoutMeTech, and it turns out to be really good. I highly recommend tech bloggers to give it a shot.

Jan uary 2020 Update: Infolinks is slowly dying and no more recommended In-text ad network.

Let me start with one of the most famous and popular networks among Blogger. Infolinks is one of the easy to start and implement the network. You can control ads from Infolinks dashboard and it offers minimum payout at $50.

Infolinks also offer related tags feature to further boost your earning. Overall, after using Infolinks for almost 2 years, I can recommend this network. The payout is via PayPal.

Vibrant is a popular advertiser with more than 6000 partners, thus the chances of relevant advertisements automatically increase. I used Vibrant and I was pretty happy with it. Vibrant Ads are easy to blend with your blog content and increase the chances of more clicks.

Well by the end, your earning depends upon your blog demographic. For example, traffic from countries like U.S always pays more than traffic from Asian countries. So, my advice is to pick a network which converts better for your blog demographic.

I have used Viglink from above list on my blog and they work out to be good. You can also check other network TOS and apply for them and see which one works.

Do let us know which In-text advertising network are you using at the moment and which one you will recommend to others?

  1. Vibrant is not vibrant for small publishers. It requires monthly 500000 impression which is a dream figure for small and medium publishers. Some of above network have target audience only western countries, useless of Publishers having Asian region.

No one can compare to info links in view of eligibility, CTR and blog size.
Anyway thanks for giving me a try to some new ad network which I was not aware.

    1. Agree with you Mahendra, Infolinks has no comparision , it’s best. Vibrant is good for big publisher but provides good earnings with time.

    1. I have covered infolinks in my previous article about Google Adsense alternatives.
It seems Infolinks is very lucky for you , Keep Rocking :).

    2. Pradhyuman,
Are you making $30 per day ? on which site ? I haven’t seen any info link ads on your site donotopen! Just wanted to have a look to your site.

    1. Don’t wry Shabnam, you will start earning good amount. If you need any suggestions , you can contact me .

  2. These are pretty much new programs. I have never heard some of them before. Good to give them a try. It would have been better if you could add infolinks and kontera to the top of the list as those are the toppers in intext advertising.

  3. Very good list of In-Text Advertising, but i think that too much ads on the same site is too confusing to visitors and may make them upset and lead them to leave you website eespecially if these ads takes long time to load.
    thank u for sharing

    1. Right Osama, that’s the mistake one by lots of money minded bloggers. I would suggest to have one or two Ad programs and think about your visitors too.

  4. Thanks but I hate intext advertising. It really look very irritating when such advertisement display with the content. I want to know is there any advertising network like buysell ads for blogger, so that we can sell banner ads on our blog?

    1. Chandan , you can check out this article “https://www.shoutmeloud.com/how-to-buy-advertisements-using-buysellads.html” for Buysell Ads or you can choose Adbrite.
Hope this would be helpful for you.

  5. Very much useful info Ruchi .I am using infolinks on my one blog and it is working well .The great advantage is infolinks mastercard .

  6. Jonathan Cohen

You can definitely use Kontera with AdSense. Because AdSense is displayed in a completely different part of a webpage, using Kontera can only add to your overall revenue.

  7. I want to know that Info links depend on the country you are getting traffic too because i also have a job site which gets a nice traffic but only from India.
So should i try infolinks ? I have not tried as yet because i always value my readers more. but due to financial reasons i need other sources of income .
    So please suggest ?

    1. Ankit, infolinks pay high for US, UK and canada traffic only. In India the pay out is very low even if the ecpm reaches around $5. You will get only $4-$5 earnings for $3-$4 ecpm in India. But if the traffic is from United States you can earn alot..

  8. I also think Infolinks is the best in all those and also you ranked it first in your list. Really useful article…..

  9. Siddharth Choudhary

No doubt that Infolinks is the best In-text Advertising program, but I have seen a lot of people who just hate Infolinks. I think if your blog is popular, then you should not use Infolinks as it may give a bad user experience to your users and you may lose a lot of readers.

  10. I have a fashion blog in India with keywords from Indian merchants only. Is there any thing else for me like except cue links ?

  11. I used info links when I first started my blog “life is a blog” and it didn’t convert very well for me so I threw Adsense on it. Been earning a few hundred a month using Adsense. Now I hit around a million visitors per month so I decided to give info links another shot. Hopefully they convert nicely for me with Google Adsense to double my income every month. We shall see.

  12. I am planning to create a blog and I wonder if there is a way to place in-text ad without pop-windows. I guess you earn money with the links to the companies cited in your post. If this is the case, how do you make this ad without pop-up windows?

  13. I have personally used Kontera and Infolinks on a site that gets fairly good traffic (about 1k uniques per day). As my site is a forum it grows in taffic over time and provides about 3000 impressions per day average.
The problem with Infolinks is that as they start you off paying well, however in time they will drastically cut you down to size after a few months. You can find alot more reviews on the net about InfoLinks about how the ad rates start off well for publishers then drops down to about 1 cent per click, 2 cents if your lucky!

  14. You can also add Skimlinks in your this post…. which is also an leading text link ad network.
