According to the official announcement:

You can tell Google about your pros and cons by supplying pros and cons structured data on editorial review pages. When you’re adding structured data to your web pages, you can use Rich Results Test to make sure it’s correct and valid for Google Search. The tool has been recently extended to check for pros and cons structured data in addition to all the other structured data types supported by Google Search.

At times, Google will automatically generate pros and cons for the editorial product review pages, and you can improve the results by providing your own pros and cons.

Support for Pros and cons structured data:

Following languages are supported by this structured data:

Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, and Turkish

Here are the guidelines for using pros and cons according to Google:

  • Currently, only editorial product review pages are eligible for the pros and cons appearance in Search, not merchant product pages or customer product reviews.
  • There must be at least two statements about the product. It can be any combination of positive and/or negative statements (for example, ItemList markup with two positive statements is valid).
  • The pros and cons must be visible to users on the page.

You can read the product review guidelines to understand how you can improve your editorial product pages listing on Google.

As for me, I used Rank Math for a quite long time now. Because they provide pros and cons on each schema and that why I liked too.

Honestly, structured data markup has always seemed too complicated. So thanks for sharing why it is important and how to do it.

  3. I am using “i2 Pros & Con Plugin”. It works best for me. But I don’t know whether the plugin uses structured data markup or not.

    Can you clear my doubt?
