When I wrote my earlier post on best social media sharing WordPress plugin, I realized there are few more plugins which need to be on the list. Especially I couldn’t find many options for floating social sharing buttons and one of the most popular plugin till now is Digg-Digg.
Here at ShoutMeLoud I use SumoMe plugin to show floating social sharing buttons both on desktop & mobile.
SumoMe WordPress plugin is one of the easy to configure plugin for showing beautiful looking social sharing buttons on your blog posts. This service supports all major social network sites such as Twitter, Fb, LinkedIn, Pocket, Google plus and Buffer. These social sharing buttons help in getting more social share as it stays all the time in the visible area while someone is reading your content.
This also supports adding social sharing buttons in your mobile view of the site. The placement can be controlled
How to configure SumoMe WordPress plugin?
To get started with SumoMe, you need to create a free account here.
Add your website URL & click on Try it now.
This will complete your signup & next stage it to add SumoMe on your blog. If you are using WordPress you can easily integrate it with plugin. I have a video below which shows you how to use it. You can simply search for “Floating social share bar” from Add plugins option and install it on your blog. Once you have installed and activated the plugin, you will configure the plugin by going to Settings >SumoMe.
One good thing about SumoMe is; it also supports other platform. So if you have a side project which is not on WordPress, you can still integrate the social media sharing button on them using SumoMe.
Now, I suggest you to watch these two videos which will show how exactly SumoMe works & how you can configure it for your blog:

Hello Harsh, I’m having problems with the plugin. After I added the plugin, I’m seeing URL of each post on the first line of the post. I first thought that this was caused by deactivating the FLARE plugin I used first, but the problem is caused by your plugin. I really loved this plugin, but I now deleted the plugin because I’m having this error. Please rectify this. Thanks.
@Abhijith
