Are you planning to launch a new WordPress site and want to make most out of the traffic before the actual launch?
When I wrote this year’s blogging resolutions for ShoutMeLoud, I told you about launching a forum for bloggers which is now LIVE at Ask.shoutmeloud.com. Now I’m working on my next target of starting a professional blogging course at ShoutUniversity. This is a paid membership site to learn professional-blogging. I’m currently working the course material.
Since I have already announced about the website and sending traffic there, I wanted to let people subscribe for email updates before the launch.
This way, I can expect the proper amount of traffic at the time of launch. Moreover, the idea is to offer extra discounts to Shouters who pre-signup for my membership site; and this works as an extra incentive for the readers of ShoutMeLoud.
I was looking for themes and plugins which will let me create a landing page before the launch, and I have specific features which I need at this moment.
- Email subscription box powered by Aweber : Having interested users on email is the best way for a membership site to grow before the launch.
- Social buttons: This is also very important for potential members to connect with other like-minded people on social media platforms.
- Mobile ready: This is a no-brainer. Having a mobile ready site is a must these days, and your launching soon page should be responsive and mobile-ready to make the most out of it.
Along with these three essential features, a good-design is another must-have for your coming soon page.
I have researched and found these three best free plugins which you can use for any WordPress site. Two of them come with pro feature options, which is something you should consider when launching a paid membership site. Now, let’s go ahead and have a look at best coming soon WordPress plugin options.
WordPress Plugins for Coming Soon Landing Pages
SeedProd WordPress Plugin:
This is one of the easy to implement solutions as you will be adding the coming soon page with the help of a plugin. It comes with all the necessary features such as Mailchimp integration, Aweber integration, Maintenance mode, SEO friendly to name a few. If you are tight on budget and are looking for a free solution, you can grab the free version of SeedProd plugin from WordPress plugin repo.
If you are launching a membership site like mine, where you want to make most out of every single visit, I would suggest you grab the pro version which comes at a price tag of $29. The pro version is genuinely responsive and mobile-friendly which is something that will help you to get more subscribers before the actual launch of your website or membership site. You can use coupon code “GET15OFF” to get 15% off on pro version of Seedprod.
Easy Coming Soon WordPress Plugin:
This is another solution and comes in both – free and paid – options. If you are looking to integrate with any premium email marketing tools like MailChimp, AWeber, Get Response, Constant Contact and Campaign Monitor integration; you need to grab the pro version which comes at a price tag of $35. You can download the free plugin from the official WordPress repo over here and also compare it with Pro version on the same page.
Indot Under CountDown timer WordPress plugin:
This is not the ideal plugin in my situation, but it’s certainly useful for anyone who needs a coming soon page with a countdown timer.
You can also use this plugin when carrying out maintenance on your WordPress site, as it just shows the launching soon page with countdown timer and retains your SEO values.
This is a completely free plugin with limited features and appeals in certain case-scenario.
While researching for the coming soon WordPress plugins, I also stumbled upon many more options, but most of them were outdated. Ink coming soon plugin is another decent option, but it doesn’t offer integration with popular email marketing software. For me, Seedprod looks like the best option of all.
Note: I’m using Seedprod plugin for my project. I will be sharing the review and configuration guide in the next post. You can subscribe to my email newsletter for the updates.
Do let me know if you know of any other WordPress plugin that helps in creating the launching soon page or help in making most out of your soon to be launch WordPress site.
