Why we should regularly check and fix 404 links :

Broken links are those links which gives 404 status code. Usually, when a webmaster decides to change permalink and also removes the page it gives 404 status code.     If you have a wordpress site, you can use Broken Link Checker wordpress plugins too. But yes, if you have a site which has huge content, it is recommended to use an online service instead of the plugin and plugin might slow down your site performance in that case.

    Thanks for the site recommendation. I just ran a test with Free link Checker and Broken Link Checker with no broken link. W3C reported some javascript error so i think W3C is a more comprehensive tool. Dead Link Checker does not work for me, it always check but no result is shown.

    There is one more cool & free checking service: http://www.BrokenLinkCheck.com/ Most of available tools can list broken links more or less fine but are lacking ability to point where are exactly in HTML a partucular dead link sits at. The tool I mentioned does it!

      seriously this brokenlinkcheck site was way better than the first and the second ones- free link check and blc.
      It found 4 more dead links which the first and the second website coudnt find.
      didnt try the others but.
      Admin add this website too.
