ShoutMeLoud is one of the most popular revenue-generating, multi-author blogs out there. One thing that differentiates us is we give our writers access to the ShoutMeLoud dashboard. This is one reason I keep experimenting with our WordPress login page and also testing new placement for login and register widget.

Here, I’m talking about another WordPress plugin called Theme My Login which is very useful for WordPress multi-author blogs, or blogs which allow guest posting directly from the dashboard.

This plugin gives a custom login page which looks the same as your blog’s theme. Basically, by using a shortcode, this plugin adds a login and logout link on a specific page of your blog. You can then direct users to that page to log in and update their profile.

This is very useful for a blog which gets guest posts from people who are not used to the WordPress platform. This way, they won’t get confused seeing the WordPress dashboard when creating a profile.

Here are some of the features offered by this plugin:

Theme My Login comes with many options like adding a login/logout link widget on the WordPress sidebar and letting users sign-up from the sidebar which will ensure more registration.

Here are a couple of screenshots of this plugin’s settings:

Once you install and activate the plugin, you can quickly go to “Widgets” and drag/drop the Theme My Login widget to add a login/logout box on your blog’s sidebar.

  • Save

You can also integrate the shortcode into your “write for us” guest author page information, as this will further help in quick sign-ups and/or logins.

The basic features of the plugin are free, while a few features require you to buy a bundle. Lately, all useful plugins have started to move to similar freemium model. Depending on your requirement, you can purchase the module that you need.

  • Save

Earlier, this plugin used to be absolutely free, and that’s when I reviewed it first. When I re-tested this plugin in 2018, everything seems to have changed. I don’t see much point of paying for the modules as there are many free alternatives out there in the plugin repo. You can also browse WordPress archive of ShoutMeLoud to find more similar plugins.

If you run a multi-author WordPress blog, here are some posts from the past which will help you to make your blog better:

    Hi harsh

    I tried this plugin.
But I can’t find shortcode in this also the widget I found is useless. You can’t do any customization and it looks pale
    I just deleted it.
