Best Social Media Follow Buttons WordPress Plugins- 2020

Do you want to increase your social media following?

The sidebar of your blog plays a major role in conversion & decreasing page-views. A usual practice is to place Email Subscription & social media follow buttons in the blog sidebar.

The placement is usually above the fold, which in turns increases the number of views and get more CTR.

There are many other places like after the post, author box, footer where you can place follow buttons for your social media profile, but nothing beats the sidebar placement on a desktop.

On the mobile, it’s great to have social media follow buttons after the post or on homepage. You can see ShoutMeLoud.com on your mobile device to see how we do it.

Today, I will be sharing many cool plugins that let you add social media follow buttons in the sidebar. This list includes only those plugins that are easy to configure & offers beautiful looking social-media buttons.

Which plugin should you use?

There are a few things you should consider before selecting the right one for you. If you have a decent following on the social media channel, you should consider picking the one that highlights the numbers. If you just started out and have less than 50 followers, the one without counter is recommended for you.

  • Pick the buttons which look good with your existing theme.
  • Responsiveness is necessary, & all above listed plugins are responsive.
  • Consider one who let users take action within the blog itself. Because if users leave to any social media channel to like or subscribe, you know how addictive those channels are.

Nice article about social share buttons, I am currently using social share button of Addthis, does it affect blog speed in anyway, as it work with script?

    • @Pawan
Most of the social sharing button will affect your blog loading time by either milliseconds or second in the case of poorly coded plugin + poor server. If your blog is loading within 2 seconds, I think you need not need to worry about. You can use tools.pingdom.com to check your loading time.

  • kruz says:

Well, there are many premium social-media-follow WordPress plugins such as Monarch, Easy social Share etc. but these plugins are paid plugins and are bit overpriced. If you are looking for a free and visually attractive plugin then go for- Follow Buttons by Add this.

  • Mridulesh Singh says:

I am using “Easy Social Share Buttons for WordPress” on my blog. It has both social sharing and follow buttons. It costs only $14. Once I’ve started using this plugin, I never need to install another plugin.

  • Mark Rivera says:

I like them all… However, simplicity of monarch plugin is what I am looking. Not much bloated programs or ads included. I have been using this for 3 years or so… $89/year is not a big of deal here, because you will not pay only for the Monarch plugin. Elegant Themes offers more plugins and themes aside from Divi itself to your WordPress blog/site.

I hope the author will clear it up that the plugin cost will be per year and not by per month or one time payment only. Aside from this, you will have a discount per renewal of the membership.
