ShoutMeLoud in National Magazine “The Week” & My First Presentation on Blogging

I love sharing my joys and achievements with the ShoutMeLoud audience (otherwise known as “Shouters”), and today I am very excited to tell you about a special honor for ShoutMeLoud.

ShoutMeLoud has a mention in The Week magazine!

Last month I received a call from a journalist who writes for The Week, and we talked a bit about blogging, entrepreneurship and the life of an internet celebrity. We chatted for an hour on various aspects of blogging, and the journalist wanted to understand, in particular, how blogs make money.

Here is the mention of ShoutMeLoud in the article entitled “Khans, Virtually” by Shweta Thakur Nanda, as published in the May 5th, 2013 edition of The Week:

Here is the text portion:

Apart from fame and financial gains, being a cyber celeb means self-employment, flexible work hours and pursuing your hobby as career. “What else can one ask for?” asks Agrawal. “It is, however, very difficult to make your parents understand what you are doing. It is new-age career.” But freedom comes with its share of problems. Agrawal says that the process of growth and mentoring that happens in corporate set-up is missing. And the ever-changing technology and short interest span of netizens often lead to insecurities about the future, as you are self-taught and your venture is like an experiment.

The Week’s interest in ShoutMeLoud is an honor and is appreciated, though it is certainly not ShoutMeLoud’s first magazine exposure. ShoutMeLoud has been mentioned many times in various magazines. In fact, here is an online version of one such mention in MyOD Magazine.

In other news, this weekend I gave my first ever presentation on blogging at SAS Mohali (5th May 2013), and it was a great experience. It was an incredible feeling to be the guest of honor at the event.  Special thanks to Shankar Bakshi for making this event happen. I will be sharing photos and seminar videos as soon as I can get my hands on them.

As my regular readers know, I usually don’t post updates like this one, but I realize that I’m able to achieve these kinds of honors because of you “Shouters” and your continued support, so it is important to me to share my moments of joy with you.

I have also put up a media coverage page to maintain an index of all past, current and future media coverage.

Also – heads up – I will be doing a seminar on blogging very soon, so keep an eye out for ShoutMeLoud updates.

Subscribe to the ShoutMeLoud newsletter if you don’t want to miss an update regarding a blogging seminar or anything else we do here at ShoutMeLoud!

Feel free to share this post with your friends and colleages via Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.
