How do you advertise your blog online? Is it through social media? But how do you use social media to your blog’s advantage?
Today, social media is the most explored platform. Everybody is on the social networking websites. Bloggers mostly use social media as a strategy to market their blog. But the question is how do you use it in a way that the blog attracts more and more users? You need to have good content. The more people like your content, the more opportunities you will have to expand your audience. Each time your audience interacts with you, it gives you an opportunity to increase your social visibility.
But the question, I repeat, is, “How do you leverage social media to your advantage?”
We here at ShoutMeLoud will help you to get answers to all your queries. And that is why on last week’s #ShoutersChat we discussed ‘How to leverage social media to build an audience’.
We discussed everything from the ideal number to posts on social media to the favorite social media platform of bloggers. We also talked about the traffic generated through social media and the various goals of bloggers related to social media in 2018.
Here is a recap of each question and the top answers by Shouters.

Social media can truly make or break you as a blogger and entrepreneur.
Point #1: Focus much more on posting non-salesy updates. For example, 9 out of 10 posts
should focus on personal anecdotes, opinions, interesting facts, humor, or anything
your audience might be interested in. Then, feel free to post the occasional soft or hard
sale.
In summary: If you keep posting nothing but self-serving material, your social media
account will quickly get stale and people will grow tired of you and your links. Thus,
diversity (not just quality) is key to long-term diversity.
Point #2: Don’t just friend people and then forget about them. Don’t feel satisfied merely
because your account is growing in numbers. Once you friend them, send a personal
message thanking them and/or asking about their day. Be genuinely interested in making
a new friend, not just another faceless follower.
In summary: Treat followers like real-life friends. Share their content, look after them,
and don’t treat them like just a number.
Thanks for the good read, Harsh and company 😉

Hello Shouters!
I would like to contribute my answers here.
Q1. What is your favorite social media? Why?
– I don’t think I can pick just one at the moment. Right now I’m experimenting with Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
But, if I do have to choose one to be my “favorite” social network, I would go with LinkedIn. Reason is because there are so many entrepreneur on LinkedIn and it is easy to connect with them. You can build your network up to 15k connections, I believe. And it is super easy to build it up. I was able to build my LinkedIn to over 2k connections in just 3 weeks. The more people in your network the more people will see your Articles (you can publish articles on LinkedIn). That is another reason why I love LinkedIn, you can publish articles there and get some free traffic almost immediately.
Q2. How often do you post on your social media?
– Daily.
Q3. What amount of traffic do you get from social media?
– At the moment, I would say about 10-20% of traffic comes from social media. This is a low number for me. That is why I am working a lot these days on multiple social networks.
Q4. What social media do you want to focus more on?
– I recently started getting into Pinterest. I have learned a lot from work at home moms who are full time bloggers, and their number one social media for traffic is Pinterest.
Q5. What are your goals with social media for 2018?
– I’m going to be focusing a lot more on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest. It is a smart idea to focus on just one social media at a time, if you have limited time to work on your goals online, but I do this full time so that is why I am able to work on multiple social networks at once.
I hope these answers help others!
Thank you everyone for the value!
Until next time!
Best regards! 😀

Hi,
I have a Website that presents famous quotes in beautiful images. For this, I have a good fan following on FB that is continuously growing, but the Web site traffic is low. I need an advice that in such situation where you get traffic on social media sharing, views and likes, how can we take benefit of that and use it to grow more? It’s not something for which user has to visit site for details. Can we monetize social media traffic like we can monetize Website traffic? How should I go about this? Appreciate your views on this!
Regards
Social media plays a great role in order to help your posts rank higher. It completely depends on the amount of shares your are getting on your post. It is sending signals to Google that this post is quite liked by the people and thus making them to share it more and more. It will up the ranking of your boost and will get you high inbound traffic.
