In my earlier post, I talked about Amazon Affiliate program which is a good way to make money by selling the product. The best part is, it works for every niche & if you do it right, the payout will be huge.

Now, in this question, I will deal with the most common question asked by newbie Amazon affiliates: “How to create Amazon affiliate link.”

Extending earlier tutorial here I’m sharing how you can create an affiliate link to an individual product on Amazon. By now, I assume you have signed up as an Amazon Affiliate, in case if you haven’t you can sign up from here.

You will be earning money from Amazon affiliate online when someone follows your Amazon referral link and buys something. That also includes further purchases.

Or simply browse Amazon site while logging into your Amazon affiliate link. On every page at the top, you can find amazon Affiliate link generator which will let you grab Amazon affiliate links instantly.

Step by step guide to creating Amazon affiliate link:

Once your application is approved, login to your Amazon affiliate panel & now head to any product page on Amazon website. At the top, you would see the option call Amazon Associates site stripe.

Here click on Get link > Text

In the above screenshot, you can see how to get your affiliate link. If you are using store ID or tracking ID for tracking, you can change that too. (Don’t worry if you haven’t started using store ID or tracking ID. We will cover this in the upcoming chapter”.

In case you want to make any changes in the site strip option, you can do that from your Amazon associate account. Here is the direct link for making changes in the site strip option.

Another way to create affiliate link for Amazon products:

The first option is the neatest & fastest one. There are other ways to create an affiliate link for Amazon product & let’s have a look at other option too.

Login to your Amazon associate account & click on Product linking > Product links:

On the next page, you have two options. Search for a product or add ASIN/ISBN Code of an individual product. I prefer the second one as it’s fast in those ways. You can find more information about ASIN/ISBN codes here.

How to Get ASIN code of Individual Amazon Product?

Now the first step is to find the product which is relevant to your website/blog. You can search for any product by going directly to Amazon.com homepage. Once you have found the product, go to product detail part. In this case, I’m getting ASIN code of this product.

Grab the Amazon Affiliate link for the product:

So now we have ASIN code of the product. Go to add a product link page. (Refer Image 1). Add ASIN code of the product and click on the go. Refer to the following image:

Click on get links & you will be able to get text links or image links that you can paste on your Website.

Hi sir, can I generate a amazon affliate link that can be opened directly in pre installed amazon Android app instead of a browser in a mobile.

Harsh, can we join Amazon.Com affiliate program and sell the products in US? and my second question is how many articles or how much content needs to be on your site before applying for the affiliate program??

  3. Karen

Harsh – many thanks for the guidance. I’ve established my Affiliate ID through Amazon and have a few of my favorite tools on my blog sidebar. One thing I’m a bit confused about is the Amazon Associates site stripe that you mention above. This URL isn’t specific to a product on amazon but it’s just a general URL for folks to use to go to amazon ? And I would get kickback on anything purchased on amazon if that link was used ? Thanks for explaining the difference between the Amazon Associates site stripe and the Product link. I Love the data you share – many thanks.

    Hi, I have a question.

Is possible to apply for Amazon affiliate program for every single product? I mean, is a must to have a specific product to be participating on?

I have an app idea to recommend products to my users, so is imposible to create the affiliate link by hand.

Exists a way to create this using a API or doing automatically? Or I can crate a general affiliate?

    Thanks for sharing.

I just don’t know what to fill in a blank. Plz guide me.

What is your preferred associates store id?

Plz let me know what to fill here

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      Hey Sindhu,

You can use any name that you like. Usually, people like to keep their website/blog name as associate store id.

Thanks for the post, i find it quite helpful. I just have one question. I signed up for amazon’s affiliate program and i would like to use it. The thing is, i dont want to directly display the ads from amazon on my site. I was wondering is it possible to link the ad to a specific word. For example, i have a DIY article and the things needed to complete it are available on amazon, “You can find “this” on amazon for a really cheap price”. Can i insert the product link in “this” word? So when user clicks the “this” he/she gets redirected to the amazon product?

Hi, I’m new in amazon affiliate and would like to ask a few questions..

    1. I read somewhere that it is against amazon’s TOS to use Associate links in, emails, newsletters, RSS feeds or anything else that’s offline as it will get you banned.

Then I read here and in other blogs that it’s okay to “Link To Products Inside Your Content” as it converts better

“Example: Check out this COOL HELICOPTER (insert product link) . I’ve been covering these RC helicopters for months”

Question is..when I do a blog post and a subscriber receives that via newsletter, the COOL HELICOPTER product link is also live in the email. So, is this against amazon’s TOS?

    2. The TEXT ONLY option in product links contain a “nofollow” tag. But I cannot find that in IMAGE AND TEXT option. How do I put a “nofollow” tag in that?

I hope you could help me on this please. Thanks very much

Hi, I would like to ask you that when I add a generated affiliated link of Flipkart in my blog and after clicking the link,a new tab of that particular product link is opened and it contains my affiliated id.But my question is after open of that page contains my id if I choose another product from that page then my affiliated id is not shown for this particular product. So, whether I get any commission or not if anyone choose the other product after clicking on my link in absence of my affiliated id.
    Thanking you.
