Do you want to learn how to make most out of Instagram stories?

Social media is fun and worth exploring. Every day there is something new happening and if you are a blogger or a social media influencer, you would know how much effort you need to put in to be active on all social networks.

With the rising number of social network and most of them supports features like video stories, live videos and so on, it’s really hard to be omnipresent. Mind it, I used the word hard and not impossible. A smart person will see this as an opportunity and find a way to share the same stuff simultaneously on many networks. I consider myself as a smart working guy rather than a hardworking one, and I often find various ways to get more done with same or little extra work.

Here at ShoutMeLoud, I have shared numerous social media tips and tricks in the past. Today, I am extending this series to all the Instagram users. I’m sharing a trick for all the users of Instagram, who love to create stories on the widely popular photo-sharing application.

What if I say you can automatically post your Instagram stories on Facebook stories as well as?

Yes, you read that right.

Nonetheless, this works for both Facebook profiles and pages. You get to decide if you want to automatically shares your Instagram stories on Facebook page or profile.

This is one of the lesser known and used features of Instagram. With this feature, you don’t have to manually post on Facebook again and once you configure Instagram story sharing settings, everything will be automated in the future.

Let’s get down to it.

Learn how to share Instagram stories automatically on Facebook profile/page as stories

You can follow this trick on iOS or Android.

  • Simply open the Instagram app on your phone
  • Go to your profile and click on settings

And you’re set!

But before you go, enable one more setting:

  • Save to camera roll

Save to camera roll will automatically save your Instagram stories to your phone gallery. You can further use it to share on other social networks like Twitter, LinkedIn or any other that you use. You can also read more about this feature on the Instagram help page.

Just to let you know, the ‘Save to camera roll’ doesn’t work for live videos and there is no direct way to record it. However, since I’m here you don’t have to worry about it. In the upcoming article, I will share how you can record Instagram live stories.

For now, you should also try out live stories feature and let me know how it is helping you to grow your brand.

Note: Instagram has enabled direct publishing for few selected partners. If you are using AgoraPulse, HootSuite or Tailwind, you can enjoy automatic posting of updates on Instagram.

    Hey Harsh!

This is a good way to publish content on both social platforms.

I’d like to point out that these options look different in the new version of the Instagram App. The ‘share to Facebook’ option is under Linked Accounts – not Story Settings.

I’m not sure if it would be different on an iPhone than an Android. I have an Android so these settings are slightly different for me in the version of the app.

Anyway, thank you for sharing this simple hack!

    Best regards! 😀

They have just changed the name it’s now called as “Story Contol” instead of “Story Settings” 5th under Privacy and security section

      Hope this helps

I was figuring out how to do it on Google. This post is quite helpful to keep your stories in sync on Facebook and Instagram. However I am still not clear on the point , does stories adds any value to your passion or does it attracts more traffic. I am not a big fan of stories concept but definitely going to try this.

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Rajeev
Stories are another medium of sharing. Just like you share stuff as text or images, now you can share the same with Instagram stories. However, you definitely need to be creative to mark a difference with stories. See how others are doing and ask yourself, how you can do it and better than them.
