by Harsh Agrawal on September 1, 2009

in Yahoo

Yahoo has launched its Micro blogging website Yahoo meme. Meme was launched long time back but was not available in English language. Now Yahoo has launched its English version of meme.

Yahoo meme is more or less like Twitter   but with lot better features. Along with text and links , you also have the option to add images, video and mp3 songs.

Interface of yahoo meme is very neat and clean and you will enjoy working on it. Like Twitter Retweet, Yahoo meme has repost.

If you are familiar with twitter. Yahoo meme has almost similar features like dashboard (timeline in twitter) and your profile.

According to official Yahoo meme about page :

What is Meme?

A “meme” is commonly known in the web as some kind of content that spreads fast and draws everyone’s attention.

  • Things have to be quick, easy and simple to do
  • - You should be able to share whatever kind of content you publish or find in the web
  • - Your posts should get around without you having to be a part of any specific social network
  • - You keep the credit for your discoveries and creations
  • - You should easily find what’s drawing everyone else’s attention

The only thing is meme is still ne alpha version so before it will be available for public, it will undergo lots of changes. By far my experience with meme is excellent and once more people will join meme. It will be next generation micro blogging tool.

Interesting idea, but the question is; will it stand a chance against Twitter? All of these features are already included in Twitter thanks to third part services and I’m sure they will continue to promote Twitter as well as everyone starting to make money off it now.

Thinking of that too. Can it beat Twitter??? As far as I know, Yahoo is having too much app. That’s why lot of their app is useless other than Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Answer.

Well, Google also have a lot of apps but personally I think most of them deliver high quality so it’s not only about the numbers. With that said I’m not very fond of Yahoo for some reason.

Excellent! This looks good and thanks for sharing. I use twitter a lot, but like the idea of adding pictures, video etc. Well time will tell, but will definitely use it when my account is setup.

Cheers again.
