RSS is one of the widely used method to read and distribute posts. Though the down side of RSS feeds are, they are not updated in real time. It taken some time before your RSS feed reader will start fetching those updates from Website. If You are new to RSS feeds, read What is RSS feeds?
WordPress has announced the new feature call RSSCLOUD in which reader will get instant updates. Though this is available for WordPress.com blogs but for WordPress.org blogs , you need to install a plugin call RSSCLOUD.
Though at the moment only feed reader which will support RSSCLOUD is DAVE newly launched feed reader RIVER2.

Why is this important? Right now how most people interact with feeds is by checking that it updated every now and then, usually about once an hour. Can you imagine waiting an hour to get your emails? (The world would probably be more productive.) RSS Cloud is an extra element in your RSS feed that allows subscribers to say Hey, let me know as soon as you’ve updated, kthx
Good thing about this feature is it’s going to be real time and nothing can be better then this. Specially when we get any breaking news after 8 years because slow synchronization of RSS feeds.
Matt also added that in future we can expect more services to be added in push notification.
For now I’m waiting for the announcement from major feed readers to support this service. Specially my favorite Feed demon.
I have just installed this plugin and lets see if this will make any difference in upcoming days. This feature is very useful for blog like shoutmeloud who update the latest tech news.
