I started with a blogger blog, and I wish I could move it to wordpress now, but I don’t want to lose my traffic/PR. I much prefer WP. I found blogger easy to set up, but once I learned Wordpress, which isn’t too bad at all, I realized how much more it was capable. But if you don’t plan to do a whole lot with the site or feel the need to customize it a great deal, then blogger is a great choice as well. Just my 2 cents :)

I agree that WP is much easier, and I far prefer the interface – however, if you’re just hosting a free blog, I was under the impression that free WP blogs do not support Adsense – is that right?

    • Alamin

Dave, yes doesn’t support adsense. But they have changed the rule that if you get huge amount of traffic, you may use it

Well, I have used both the blogspot and wp. What I believe is that WP is more convenient, easy to use, a lot of plug in makes your life more comfortable, SEO friendly and so much free themes avaiable that I didn’ find on blog spot. I receive very few comments in blog spot while in WP the response by way of comments is also significatly higher then blogspot.
So, I agree with author that one should start blogging with wp only and I will add if you are serios for blog then you should use a paid hosting service instead of using a free one

WP vs Blogger is quite subjective issue. IMO the beginners should start with a custom domain at blogger. Feature wise blogger is getting richer every passing day. Moreover its free.
In my past 8 months of experience, I find Blogger as a good service that also helps in earning without investing anything on hosting & all.
Also AdSense & Amazon can be integrated seamlessly @ blogger :) what else a beginner can aspire for!

I will recommend free blogspot blog to beginners :)
because many newbie bloggers are not able to achieve what they want, So why waste money for web hosting. First go to blogspot blog and check yourself you can do this or not. Then you can migrate to
and about free, people should read the above post ‘Difference b/w and’.

  • angelmira

I personally prefer WP because it’s so much more customizable with plugins. You have more control :)

  • kiran

if these are the reasons then i guess i’ll stick with blogspot .

    • Paritosh

Availability of plugins for wordpress is a big big factor why i (and other bloggers) move to wordpress. Besides with self hosted wordpress you aren’t ‘under’ google anymore :p
