When ever we start a blog, there are certain things which we need to do after creating our blog, like essential WordPress plugins, essential wordpress settings, essential pages for your blog and so on.
Out of which one, important thing is creating an about me page for our blog and for the admin ( or both of them in one page). This one page explains everything about you and your blog. Before I move ahead with this topic, let’s have a look at this picture:

According to my blog, About Page is one of top ten popular pages in my blog. In this post, we will discuss the importance of the About Page.

I have seen a lot of bloggers who don’t bother updating about me page and their about page look like this:
Can you trust this blog? I think the answer is : NO. Blogosphere has millions of blog, and thousand blogs are created daily, you can’t trust a blog where the about page is still in the default stage.
2. Allowing yourself to be known
The About page is usually the first click when I visit a new site where I’ve never visited before. And I’m not the only one, apparently. Most visitors want to know: who you are? where are you come from? what is your expertise? ….. etc.
3. Help you get more fans and friends
In your about page, you can provide all important contact informations like email, Facebook link, twitter link, So that readers can contact you easily and maybe some of them can become your close friend. More over people who tries to connect with you after reading your fan page are usually your true fans or who follows your blog closely.

Wow, I never get that many hits on my About Page
You must be on the right track if many are trying to find out more about you!
Yeah you are right an About me Page is very important. Infact one should focus on adding an About me page before adding any article on the blog.
Me personally visit the about me page of every blog to know who is the man/women behind this.
It even inspires others too.
So yeah about me Page is damn important and must be added by everyone
For every blog an about me page + contact page + privacy policy or disclaimer page should be there so that anyone can easily know about you and if he wants to share or complains something or make a contact then he finds a safe zone
You are right! About Page is very important
An About Me page is vital. Google Analytics shows my About Me page is ranked behind only the home page of my blog every single month.
Thanks for the insight. About Us pages are great, and a must not just on blogs on all websites, This is one of things I recommend all of my clients to have on their websites is a Good About Us page. As it portrays who they are, what they do, the past, the future, you name, it anything to do with you can go onto the About Us Page.

I do not think todays an average blogger forgets to write something about him/her self. The reason is that he or she could not stand with the default text on the About page after install WP.

There is definitely some truth about creating an about page on a blog, it’s valuable to those wanting to know who’s behind much of the content posted, however it is certainly not merely as important as having an about page on a more consumer orientated website.
