Buddypress helps web masters to create social networking websites like Facebook, Orkut and so on. With the deployment of WordPress MU in WordPress 3.0 buddypress is going to be next big thing.buddypress-logo

Many web masters already started advocating WordPress MU and buddypress.  Few days back we covered article on problem using WordPress in your domain name.
The same legal issues which we have see with WordPress in domain name is applicable here with domain name Buddypress.

In the official page, they have clearly mentioned

We ask if you’re going to start a site about BuddyPress or related to it that you not use “BuddyPress” in the domain name. Try using “bp” instead, or another variation.

If you already have a domain with “BuddyPress” in it, redirecting it to the “bp” equivalent is fine, just as long as the main one users see and you promote doesn’t contain “BuddyPress.

So in case if you are planning to buy a domain name related to buddypress, try bp equivalent of it.

Yes, this is actually how I do feel as well. I really can’t see it any other way.
