Twitter was flashing a continuous message in its home page that it will go under scheduled maintenance and finally about 8:00 A.M. G.M.T.+5:30(Indian Time) it is flashing an image which tell Twitter is down for maintenance.The image is very interesting. It shows an ice cream and a caterpillar. Icecream is saying hurry up i am cool. The meaning of image is quiet simple. It means twitter team is a caterpillar and Twitter users are cool as ice-cream, they don’t getting annoyed by not using Twitter for some time. But it is really true?

I never knew that, but i still find the image weird. I would of used something else, but I guess twitter users will understand and will not get annoyed like you said.
Harsh, I doubt this is new. I have seen this many times when twitter is down.
