Some time back twitter introduced retweet feature in its web interface and today twitter rolled out a new feature call hovercard. One thing is very true about Internet, less click means more time on the website and this new hover feature of twitter will bring the same thing. With less clicks you can do more. Like you can see detail of any profile, follow him directly or send him a direct message with one click.
According to official blog announcement:
One way we’ve found these cards to be useful is to find out more about retweeted people and follow them right there. You can also see more information with an expanded view of the card.
Sending direct messages to people you follow will also be possible with Hovercards so you can interact with tweeters without having to move off the page
One thing is for sure those who are using web interface of twitter will like this new feature. More over I personally prefer hootsuite over web interface of official twitter.
This hover feature in twitter will be rolled out in phases, so if you are not lucky enough to see it right away, wait for a while to see it live on your twitter profile.

If u want this type of features in website you can use http://www.snap.com
It will show cool preview of any links in a website
Personally I do prefer TweetDeck or HootSuite to using the web interface of Twitter, but for those that do use the web interface, this does sound a useful feature from twitter.
