Twitter enhanced it’s Email notification system and added features to receive Email when someone you follow retweet your Tweets. Earlier we used to receive Email when someone follows or send us a direct message.
With this new Email notification from Twitter, you will receive Email when some one you follow retweet your tweet or favorite your tweets. This way, you can keep complete track of all the activities happening with your twitter profile.
Though if you are a power twitter user who is getting lots of mention and retweets, you might like to disable this feature to keep your inbox clean.
This feature was announced by Twitter team via tweet:
How to Disable Twitter Email notification?
So in case, if you don’t like so many Emails, probably you might like to disable this feature. You can go to twitter notification settings page and select options to enable or disable receiving Emails.
This is indeed a useful feature and specially now people who are using new style retweet on Tweetdeck or any other Twitter client, their tweet will not go unnoticed.
On the second thought, it might be consider as a bad update for third party dev, who build websites to receive updates on @mention and Favorites.
Anyways, I would love to see feature to reply by Email (default) in future. However, I liked this new feature as now I can keep track of all my followers who are retweeting my tweets.
Do let us know what do you think about this new feature from Twitter? Do you think it’s useful or found it annoying because of so many Emails?
