Lets face the reality, Android and iOS brought a new era of mobile apps. When I go to android market, it’s like I’m running in a gold mine and It’s difficult to pick everything. I keep browsing from one app to another and by the end, I just end up browsing. People who are using Android OS, they will never get tired of praising this awesome OS. In this post I’m going to share some of my favorite free apps from android market, which every Android user should consider installing. Though this is not must have list, but according to your usage and interest, you can pick some of the popular free android apps from below list.
So here goes my list where I’m going to bore you with some interesting and some common app. Do remember, I never meant to say they are the best android apps, but they are certainly worth your time and also my time, which I spent writing about them.
Useful Free Android Apps:
Winamp

Yah, you getting it right. I love music and music managers are something, which I always look out for. Let me present you one of the most popular Windows media player on android. Winamp is a well-known media player for PCs or Desktops & Now available for android platform. At the moment of writing, this is one of the best media app on Android market.
Real Player

Honestly, I have never been a big fan of Real player on my laptop. But, Real player android version is out of the box and with touch screen, you will love playing with it. is also a good media player. It’s neat and clean interface is a plus. But it also pull ringtones in real player music manager, while scanning which is annoying. They could have added a feature which can exclude ringtones from the music manager. Anyways, real player is worth installing on your Android powered device and it’s also one of the top music app on android market.

Yahoo IM on Android also support video call and not sure how good Facetime video quality is, but this one of smooth.
If you want to enhance voice & video chat facility in yahoo messenger app then you have to also download another app called Yahoo messenger plugin.
Orkut

Orkut is something which I have not logged in from ages. Even Orkut user base on Brazil declined but still orkut is one popular social networking app. Nearing almost 10,000 installs (Lets not compare to Facebook download stats), it’s something you might like to check in.
Google +

Google+ and orkut, I know both doesn’t make sense together. Specially, when both of them are Google product. Anyways, does it matter? In couple of months, user-base on Google+ has increased a lot and specially if you are into Blogging & SEO, you will know how Google+ impacts search engine ranking. Anyways, I’m not going to bore you with my technical jargon and let me get straight to the point. Google+ for mobile makes sharing the right things with the right people a lot simpler. More over with Google+ getting lots of popularity, this is one must have social networking app for your android device after Facebook and Twitter app. The best thing is Google+ hangout feature which makes it a perfect group video call app. If you are still not on Google+, go ahead create a profile and don’t forget to circle ShoutMeloud. If you are new to Google+, you should read this post: Google+ : First impression

With iOS5, Twitter is deeply integrated with iPhone and something similar for android might come some day. Anyways, How can a list of free Android apps can be complete without Twitter. One of the most popular social networking site have an official app for android. platform. Tweetdeck is also a nice alternative to Twitter app.

Yes, this was intentional. I saved one of the best at this position, so that you won’t miss out reading. (Next one is somewhere at the end). Facebook, a simple social networking site which grew to 845 Million active users, which is like a whole country in itself. Facebook app on android is officially launched by Fb team and this is something which you might not want to have in your smart phone all the time.
LinkedIn for Android puts your professional network just a touch away.
Mundu TV

I’m sure this above image is self explanatory about this app. If not, here is what Mundu Tv does: It gives you the power of live TV on your android device. Streaming quality of Mundu app is decent but it’s preferably to have decent speed internet connection. (Wi-Fi or 3G)

Whats app:

How can I miss one app, which is certainly one of my fav. If you are cult Apple and Black berry fan, you must have heard of iMessage and BBM. But the problem with them is they are platform dependent. What’s app bridge this gap and it’s one of the best free cross-platform messenger. Whatsapp is a free android app and I’m sure you going to like it. It scans your contact and you can see who all among your contact is using Whatsapp. You can send text, image, audio note, video note and contatct. I wish if they could have added one Buzz or poke button too. Just kidding.
