Thesis 1.6 Make Thesis customization Easy.

I have been telling you about Thesis theme a lot and the point here is Its SEO benefit and neat and clean typography.

This is one such theme , even if you don’t customize it , it will look great. But you can customize it to give it a new look.

Just now I have written a post on Download Thesis 1.6 Wordpress theme and here are the few new features of Thesis 1.6 theme, which will make you stop thinking and get this theme.

Thesis Theme Color Option :

Earlier for any color changes, we need to edit custom.css and people need to have a bit of .css knowledge to make changes in color. Thanks to new 1.6 feature, in which you can make color changes from Thesis design options.

If you are not aware of it, You can make all major changes like site layout ( 1 column, 2 column, 3 column ) from Thesis design options.

Thesis Inbuilt File Editor Option :

Remember I talked about thesis open Hook plugin some time back and it made my life so easy in terms of editing custom.css and custom_functions.php file.

Now its time for me to dump one more wordpress plugin and start enjoying Thesis 1.6 in build file editor. Now Thesis 1.6 has inbuilt editor to customize above two files. This will make your life easier to make any changes in your theme.

Nav bar Drop Down menu

Thesis 1.6 theme come with new drop down menu which will add a cool drop down effect for your pages and sub pages. This also goes with nested Menu and Categories.

This is not all , there are many features which I have already told you in previous posts. The features which we are seeing now are additional features to make user more comfortable with Thesis theme.

Else Thesis main power and strength is its SEO and Typography. I have all of my websites on thesis. Unlike earlier , when I have to make sure nofollow and dofollow categories,, tags everywhere. Its not the same in thesis.

I am really impressed with the new features of thesis like Navigation styling,Thesis admin panel is really cool with new editor options.I mean it is better than older version of thesis.
But customization of custom style is hard a bit for thesis 1.5.1 users like me.
But do you say…

7 Ashfame September 28, 2009 at 23:59: Thesis is simply great for bloggers but as a developer I would not prefer to use a theme framework because I would like to avoid the overhead they come with.

8 Webdev October 28, 2009 at 10:58: Thesis is great and not only for bloggers. As a developer you can gut the thing out , customize it and give your client a cms they feel comfortable with. If they know how to blog they will know how to update their site. And as for the overhead, you will cut that so you don’t need to use something like Drupal. I just turned a Drupal website into using Thesis as a test.
