There are  many SEO tactics used by different webmasters, internet marketers and SEO companies but all of them focus on one SEO 300x168critical goal – to attain top rankings in the search engines in order to be able to drive huge targeted traffic towards a website. As many as the tactics are so are theories and hypotheses as to how the search engines actually work and perceive individual websites to be able to determine rankings. Basically though, search engines determine the ranking of a website based on the relevance of the content and the degree of importance the website has to a related keyword.

It is to be made clear that the right SEO tactics can either make or break a business hence it should be of great importance to use only the right techniques in order to secure high rankings with the search engines. It is very normal to get confused considering the information overload that is making its rounds at the moment. But if you want to hone your SEO skills, here are the top 3 tested and proven effective SEO tactics agreeable to all that can yield very positive results.

    Content

Search engine today is smart enough to distinguish good content from bad content from superior quality content. Therefore, before you even think of gaining high SE rankings, you might want to work on having high quality plagiarism-free content. Plagiarism today is a very big issue and posting duplicated content on your website can get you penalized. It is advisable to spend the time, and money if you must, on getting qualify fresh and informative content which will appease the search engine spiders and appeal to your target audience.

    Keywords

This is self-explanatory in the sense that you should optimize your website for specific keywords which are relevant to the theme of your website. Ensure the keyword density is OK, avoid over stuffing your website with keywords as it could raise a flag and make your website penalized or even worse, completely banned. It is very simple when you want to have the right keyword density – use the keywords with the search engines and your target audience in mind. Whatever will please the human eye should also please the search engines – well at least where the use of keywords is concerned.

    Latent Semantic Indexing

This is a slightly new concept that promotes the idea of LSI to gain high SE rankings. The LSI is still a very controversial topic with as many proponents as there are opponents as to its efficacy. Basically, it deals with the insertion of closely related keywords together with the major keywords a website is being optimized for.

The above mentioned are by far the tested and proven effective SEO tactics that anyone can employ to significantly boost their rankings in the search engines.

Content is SUPER important and I think if you want to be around in the long run then you really need to focus on creating valuable/unique content. But I would still argue that back-links are still the number 1 decider in search engine rankings.

I think Link Building is missing here. Link Building is also a powerful SEO tactic, since search Engines ranks your site based on the number of backlinks.

At least to me keyword-SEO comes naturally while writing posts/articles. Using related keywords too is pretty easy once you have prepared a rough draft. Just make sure you don’t stuff the content with an unnatural keyword density!
I would also like to point out that as per my experience, scraped content is constantly on the rise and some top search results include sites which use plugins to republish articles. This is really bad for all of us :(
Around 7-8 years back I used to get desired info within a few seconds of typing the words into Google, but now it seems almost impossible. Web 2.0 is not all that good either as far as genuineness of info is concerned.

Awesome. I’ve never focused on SEO, but I understand the importance. What I’ve been focusing on is content, and when you include it in SEO I understand that maybe that’s why most of my traffic comes from search engines.

I have never focused on Keywords or LSI, and I probably never will. To me, it seems that optimizing a blog or every blog post for the search engines takes a lot of time. I’ve even tested Scribe, it helped a lot, but I still think it took my too much time.

Keyword density as a positive ranking factor is a myth. What’s important is that your keywords flow naturally in your copy and that the content sounds right in the reader’s inner ear. If you feel you must have a percentage, then analyze the keyword density of the top sites for your targeted phrase and keep your ratio in the same range.
