Famous 5 Minute Guide to Install WordPress on Dreamhost

wordpress logo When I started my Blogging career, I hosted my WordPress blog on Dreamhost Server. Here I will be sharing a step by step guide for newbie to get start with WordPress on Dreamhost. Before, we move ahead, I will let you know the reason why I opted for Dreamhost:

  • It’s compatible with Latest WordPress
  • It’s reasonable and you get one free domain with hosting. Total cost: $22

I remember paying $69 for one year hosting + free domain name with 1 year free who.is guard subscription, which was good enough for any newbie to get start at cheap. Dreamhost offers two week free-trial account, so you can grab one account without paying and if you not happy with their service, you can cancel it anytime.

    Hi Harsh,

    I thank you for sharing your blogging journey with me. i am looking forward to becoming a blogger in future. However, there are some hindrances to this as given below. I need your help/guidance to overcome this

    1) I am not a writer myself, should i hire one?
    2) Myself is also from an engineering background, should i hire a designer for designing my blog or do it myself?

    Further, Bluehost is charging Rs.3.95$/mo, then is there any advantage of going with dreamhost which is charging 9.95$/mo. Please confirm.

      @Anoop

      1) If you want to be a blogger you should start writing yourself first, else you will not enjoy your blog like we all do.
      2) There are many free and premium WordPress themes out there and they are easy to configure.
      3) Bluehost yearly will cost you somewhat $70 and Dreamhost one year hosting + 2 free domain will cost only $22 with this special link: http://www.shoutmeloud.com/recommended/Dreamhost97/

      Kavita some how I never liked Godaddy for WordPress hosting and always found one or more problem with their hosting when it comes to WordPress. Probably it’s me only but I saw the same reaction from other bloggers friend who were using Godaddy as hosting.

      Well registering domain is like buying a name for your blog or website. You can easily search for a domain name at very place. Domain name for a year will cost you 10$ and then come the hosting. Hosting is the place where all your files will be stored. Like in blogspot, which is powered by Google servers. In this case I’m talking about dreamhost hosting service. Which I use.
      Its easy to buy a free domain along with a hosting from dreamhost. I’m talking about dreamhost because of my experience with it.
      For one year it will cost u 69$.
      Let me know if u need more help or want me to set up wordpress for you on remote.
      You can sign up for dreamhost here .
