SEO Strategy : Quality or Quantity of Post

by Riddhi Mohan on November 23, 2009

in SEO

Are you working on techniques to make visible your website to search engines? Or working on the design of your website that please visitors? But have you ever realized that you are ignoring one more important aspect which is heavy enough to deplete whatever you have done for your website design & to increase Search Engine Optimization.

SEO Strategy vs Quality & Usefulness

SEO Strategy vs Quality & Usefulness

You can’t ignore usefulness & quality of your blog.

And if you are ignoring your blog quality & usefulness, that’s for sure you are taking your website away from your readers.

When a first time visitor visits your website seeking something, is first presented with the website design & interface. Nice website designs helps to take their eye for some time but it is all the information & its relevancy to ?their attention.

But the key is to present visitor with what he is actually looking for & how the information presented proves to him.

Tricking search engines & thousands of inbound links will be not consistent for the hundreds of (worthless) posts on your blog for a long time.

Types of Quality Blog Content

Diggbait, LinkBait, Flagship Content, and Authority. In this post, Chris defines the Content Value Ladder in order of ascending importance:

  1. Filler content: The me-too stuff that many blogs copy and paste from press releases and other blogs
  2. Good, original content: Anything that delivers on the blogs promise in an original and valuable way
  3. Authority building content: Content that positions the blogger as an authority in the niche
  4. Pillar content: A blog’s solid foundation of resource posts and tutorials
  5. Flagship content: Articles and reports that go above and beyond, creating significant value in a way that draws in readers for years to come

Obviously, the goal is to create as much pillar and flagship content as possible so that they get value, that’s what actually people want.

Instead of getting into blogging to think of how you can benefit (mindshare, income etc) look at how you can benefit your readers.

How can you make someone get free goodies, free tips that are good or that can be very helpful , how can you make someone more money or in the case of this article: how can you help bloggers give value to readers by providing quality content?

If you offer constant value to your readers, you’ll give them an important reason to stick around.

Share your views & let us know what do you think about the techniques that can really help establishing blog quality & more usefulness among blog readers?

SEO comes to work when it helps readers only reach the information they are exactly seeking for, but what if the main information is either not there OR is not presented well. It will only result in TAB cuts nothing else.

At that time blog usefulness & quality does matter alot.

Right, Ricky
I can say there are many who are just lurkers, visit your blog to just have the content idea & many a time more than that.
But I believe the Quality & originality is the key that can’t be hidden for a long time. It pays, indeed.

I agree with this, there are so many blogs to choose from on the web that people will switch off and move on in a flash if they aren’t interested in what you have to say. The old adage that the first ten seconds people spend on a website are crucial is definitely correct.
