Reliance is the worse costumer service provider in Gurgaon, you keep complaining and complaining and there is nobody to hear. There is no response from anywhere, sales team, installation team and technical team ,all are deaf. You cannot imagine your business while taking connection, nobody from there cares about it. Idont think whatever theyare saying about this 3.1 MB data card is feasible in this working environment.

I am experiencing frequent disconnections with Reliance Netconnect Data Card Broadband + with 3.1 mbps. They are cheating people, hardly it connects, just because of brand people are going for Reliance.

I took the connection on 16th Nov 2010, now i would like to terminate the connection due to the frequent disconnections.. Can any one suggest me what is the solution for it. I have already paid 1900/- for the datacard and USB drive.

My sincere advice is not to go for Reliance Netconnect.. they are cheating people…

Purchased reliance broadband data card in Delhi (online). Stopped functioning just after 3 days of use. They offering various excuses and we are made to run to different web world outlets.
Service is not restored till date, guess they want to reduce the unlimited browsing they offered for the initial 2 months.
one buys this kind of product for increasing one’s convenience not to lose it forever.

I am from Rajkot and Use bsnl EVDO, which is hopelessly slow and you can never download a file bigger than 10 MB because of frequent disconnections. [rapidshare free accounts dont allow downloaders :) and shared IP is always an issue ]

After reading this section, i Visited reliance web world they say it will be active in Rajkot in next 15-20 days. I hope to read about user experience of Reliance EVDO, there are some unhappy users but what about speed ? Can anyone share their experience on speed [ customer care may be problem at all places ]

Reliance Netconnect Broadband + is a total fraud. Neither does it ever give the advertised speed of 3 MBPS, nor does it retain the connection more than 15 minutes at a stretch.
I would warn the future buyers, not to buy this card. The max speed which I ever got on this card was 300 kbps only.

The other bigger irritant is the frequent dissconnection of the internet. The connection drops every 10 – 15 minutes. You have to redial again and again….
    It is just horrible..
    We feel cheated

3.1 Mbps means 3.1 MEGA BITS

small b stands for d Bits n capital B stands for d Byte
so if ur getting 300 KB/s thn it means ur getting speed nearer to d maximum speed i.e. of 396.4 KB/s

Reliance customer care is horrible and quite unresponsive , but I am satisfied with the 3.1 mbps modem. tried it in trains and in Lucknow also. worked fine and gave unbroken connectivity. maybe the Huwaii modem is better than ZTE modem. Had a ZTE device earlier and had speed and connectivity issues with it. Huwaii device gives me 3.1 mbs on HSD setting and 230 Kbps on Hybrid setting. for me it worked even in remote villages and small towns.

finally i got a notice from court to be present before lokadalath i was shocked then i again went to the reliance world the answer was the same finally i have to pay 3000/ rs without any mistake of mine. there are 1000s of people who daily come to the lok adalath daily all are reliance company victims.
The reliance is the biggest frauds i have paid 3000/ rs without any reason the actual fault was the companies but i was the victim.
how do you think that they have the crores this is the reason. Never go to any reliance postpaid or prepaid products. this is a kind request to all indians never buy these frauds products

For others, if you have ever faced such situation, I will suggest go for some written confirmation from them.

I am not sure where to go from here. EC1260 does not install on Vista 32 bit Enterprise. Doesn’t recognize the USB as a model. Have called Reliance customer care so many times that I have a log of my own. Many many promises but no follow up. The agents don’t have any links with the back end team (apparently technical) and back end team only talked about dispatching the technician to my location rather than trying to fix the issue. Everybody in customer care tells me they are escalating the issue but no one acts on it. Its 3500 Rs money down the drain, please don’t buy this product if you have Windows Vista 32 bits or otherwise. They are not set up to handle customer service. Pathetic.. pathetic… pathetic.

Anyone with suggestions / experience on Tata Photon?

The speed you have mentioned is download speed and NOT downlink speed… If you get 350 kbps download speed, then ur link speed is 350*8=2800 kbps, which is almost near the speed they promise.. Its a nice product and really good for online gaming..

    Hi

As i come to know from BSNL officials , in Hybrid mode the Data card will toggle between the best network available. Means in case You are browsing under the BTS with EVDO coverage and suddenly moved out to some other BTS coverage where its on CDMA-1x ,then no need to disconnect and reconnect the internet ,it will just switch over.

    Hi

    All

I’ve been through all the comments, did anyone asked Reliance or BSNL, what they are saying Reliance 3.1 mbps, or BSNL 2.0 mbps

Here the trick is what MBPS stands for meba bytes per second ???? is it really

Technically it is Mega bits per second, so 8 bits equal to 1 byte ( 8 bits = 1 byte)

    To our calculation 1000 kbps= 1 megabytes
so 3.1 mbps = 3100 kilobytes per second

Now trick is Divide 3100 kbps /8 Mbps (mega bits per second)= 387.5 kbps

So we are gettings 387 to maximum 500 kbps of actual speed

So Innocent buyers Please Clarify the same with Reliance & BSNL

Am sure we are being Cheated

You can even use ur Cell phone as a modem, with speeds upto 256 Kbps…with the right company/Sim Card. These 3.1 MBPS are only marketing gimmicks! Real BROADBAND experience only comes thru a STABLE CABLE…remember that!

I am working in Bangalore. We have tested Reliance and tata photon broadband datacard in 3 places of Bangalore. I agree that Reliance datacard is good compare to other datacards.
But don’t expect that speed what they offer 3.1Mbps. When you see in Reliance netconnect window it shows nearly 600kbps. But this is misguiding you. Actually if you compare this is also wrong. I have tested this datacard by downloading WinZip (18MB). During download I have opened Reliance netconnect window in one side and normal download window in other side. In normal download window also we can check speed (bottom of the window), so don’t use any testing software. Reliance netconnect window shows nearly 600kbps and normal download window shows it as 60kbps. For work comfortable like in office landline connection we need 126kbps. But 60kbps also okay, np. So, Reliance is cheating, what they have done in the nectconnect window software that normal download speed * 10. That means 60kbps * 10 ==> 600kpbs. It is ultra cheating. But if you compare to other datacard, the Reliance Datacard is toooo good. I am using it for remote connection of my office desktop and using 5GB plan. 5 GB plan is more than enough. Normally it won’t reach more than 2 GB. And also there is no frequent restarting of connection problem like in BSNL landline and tata photon.

Another thing I want to add here is, if you are using datacard for remote office desktop connection at home. If you think you are going to use per day 8 hours then 5GB plan will come 34 days (maximum) (excluding other personal download). This is also I have tested and calculated. This is more than enough. If you minimize the remote connection window, then also you can save the usage (like putting in pause mode).

    Hi All

I want to share my case with BSNL .Earlier i was using Reliance (official)and Tata photon (Personal) in Gurgaon Sec-54,55,56,57. I would like to tell you abt the speed which they are providing on the 1X data card its 15-17KBps.So Itook forward for BSNL EVDO card for higher speed keeping view the low entry cost .After getting so much of feedback thru dealers and sales persons(including BSNL officials) that it would provide atleast 1 Mbps ( 128KBps theoretically) .So I purchased the ZTE 8700 in Rs. 2,500 cash which supports upto 2.4 Mbps. But the speed was only 0-17 KBps (like 1X ,what the EVDO then)for D/L.
Also you would never get the EVDO CCare no. 1800-233-1500 which is always not available .So I try to complaine thru some good guy in BSNL (since ,no other BSNL CCare entertained your call)who refferd to some other Guy in their technical deptt.i was surprised to know from him that their system is not capable of offer 3.01 Mbps ( 300-330 KBps) to individual. And it is distributed ,so more the customer lesser speed an individual get.
One more thing to share, never considered the speed in demo data card speed is tweaked and only to WOW the customers .From my experience ,Pls avoid BSNL.
Presently i am looking over for other options like MTS(does not have good coverage in Gurgaon sec-56-57,Sohna road) /Docomo( no dealer found with test card) but both are having D/L cap even in higher plans.

Any suggestions for service provider since I am leaving in Gurgaon Sector -56 and my office is in Sohna Road.

transfer rate drops to 5 – 6 KBps even in peak hours

Hi ! I want to tell everyone that if Reliance has promised to give 3.1 mbps of speed then, it doesn’t means that you will get 3100 kbps in you Internet Download Manager or while downloading or whatever you use, let me get this clear if you are getting 3.1 mbps speed, i.e; 3.1 x 1024 = 3174kbps, so 3174/8 = 396 kb’s. So, you will get the download speed of around 400 kb’s. This is the correct rule, according to me, as i have seen this on many websites, if you don’t believe then you can google it, although i also want to tell you that i have been using RN+ from about 1 month, and i am getting good speed, i was using Rs. 750/- Unlimited plan, so only got 5gb @ 3 mbps after that speed drops to 144 kbps, but still i can download heavy files, with 2-3 connection droppings per day, which is not bad. I also want to share that last week i download EA Sports FIFA 2008, of around 2.5 GB, and it was completed in 12 hours, and 9 mins, which is fairly good according to the speeds of 144 kbps i.e; 144/8 = 18 kbps download speed !! :) The maximum speed i got was 2 mbps and never 3 mbps in Reliance Net Connect
