Mobilepress wordpress plugin comes to a rescue to make your wordpress blog mobile friendly. It also support iPhone as well.
According to the author, it makes your blog mobile SEO friendly
MobilePress also features Mobile SEO which detects Google and Yahoo mobile search bots. These mobile search bots will see the mobile version of you blog which allows your blog to optimized and indexed on Google and Yahoo mobile search.
I installed this plugin and checked my blog on Nokia n95 , blog seems to be working fine on mobile browser.

Though there is a downside of this plugin, if you use adsense in your blog post, it will make it look very odd in mobile browser.
Update: I shifted to WpTouch plugin which is more featured rich and offers a completely mobile optimized version of website.

Good move to use mobile plugin. However as you said the adsense almost takes first page if viewed in opera mini.
Is there a similiar thing for blogger as well ?
Nice, its really strange that people dont realize that mobile is the future, it truly is! Glad that you noticed that. There is actually a huge gap between Web and Telcoms and whoever is willing to bridge that gap might just end up extremely successful!
