MaxBlogpress Ping optimizer : Wordpress must have plugin

in Wordpress plugin

Few days back we talked about no self ping wordpress plugin, but that was for stop pinging your own blog post.wordpress_logo

Why blogs are considered as more powerful tool then websites? Because of real time update and they get indexed into search engine very soon.

The reason is when we publish a post, wordpress automatically ping the services and inform them the blog has been updated.

But there is a downside of default wordpress ping system and that is, when you update, schedule   or edit any post wordpress ping   all the services. So it is like False pinging and excess of this might lead to ban of your blog on particular ping service.

Recently I came across one such plugin Maxblogpress Ping optimizer wordpress plugin which take care of all this issues.

According to author :

    • When you create a new post, your blog will ping and notify all the ping services that it has been updated. This encourages search engines and different blog directories/services to index your updated blog properly.
    • When you edit an existing post, it won’t send any unnecessary ping to ping services and saves your blog from getting banned by such services.
    • When you post a future post by editing the time stamp, it will ping only when your post appears in future. It won’t unnecessarily ping many times when you schedule posts as WordPress does by default.

And I have personally checked the plugin log stats, and it says what it does.

Though there is one downside of this plugin and which is a bid point of discussion in wordpress forum. To activate the plugin you need to sign up for author newsletter using your email ID. After that you will keep receiving newsletter from the author. Though I personally feel, author should have asked for a donation for such a nice plugin but spamming user Email with newsletter is not appropriate in my sense.

But looking at the usability of the plugin, this is must have wordpress plugin.

Hi Harsh,

I came across this plugin months ago. Actually, when I first moved to WordPress. This plugin is cool and helps us users out.

I also did not like the newsletter emails I got. I am happy that I used my domain email and not my gmail one. It is funny that the developer did not ask for a donation, but I guess he got many users using it and in return he used the newsletter to get readers and probably increase revenue. Just my opinion.

The funny and sad part is it is one of the best and useful plugin for wordpress. If you will search in wordpress forum for this plugin, almost 50+ members has problem with the newsletter.
I don’t even mind buying him a beer for this useful plugin, and I’m sure many of wordpress lover would like to pay a part of donation for developing this plugin. Though it’s like a spam , making people to subscribe to the newsletter in behalf of the plugin.

Hey, I use this plugin – but I don’t see another service than google or yahoo or sometimes live/bing that come to my website. This bloglister websites never bring me a single user. I don’t even no a person looking at this websites. I consider to uninstall the pinging tool.

Unclubooob, I think you getting it wrong here. One of the powerful tool of a blog is Pinging. As soon as you write a post, Blog ping service notifies popular search engine that a new post has been published. The downside of default pinging system is, even if you edit a post, Your blog will ping the services, making your blog a fake pinger or ping spam. That’s why this plugin is recommended.

sure is a handy plugin, and tx for this write-up.

but to be fair .. the newsletter isn’t in any way spam .. if you don’t want the letter, don’t install the plugin!

.. just as with Yoast’s plugins .. if you don’t want the dashboard widget (mind you, you can disable that) don’t install his plugins.

Hey, we can’t have it all ways.

I installed this plugin and submitted one of my emails to get it activated. It’s been a week and I haven’t received the confirmation link. Tried it several times but of no use. And then I thought to myself this plugin is not worth getting your email spammed. Cos a motive of a person need not be unintentional all the times. If you know what I mean.

That is because Email must have landed in your Spam folder. The email is sent by aweber Email signup which is one of the best IMO.
You can check in your Spam folder.
Even I hate their email spam, but you can also opt out of email newsletter by clicking on unsubscribe button anytime :)

Great plugin and in all fairness I must say something in support of the plugins developer who has undergone what seems like an “attack” in recent weeks. Nobody likes to be spammed but I don’t believe this is what the developers were doing.
Whether or not it is GPL these people have put a lot of time sometimes thousands of UNPAID hours into creating these things for us users to enjoy at no cost and a lot of the time without thanks. Without these developers we should all think of how things would be…….
Now on the other hand we often see other developers around the internet selling Wordpress Themes calling them “premium” themes and what you will find is that even upon paying for one of there themes , they get your email address and subscribe you to their newsletters or you MUST register at there FORUMS – there are many many business doing this , some of them very well known – but to most of you that is ACCEPTABLE ????
I often sign up around the internet for many offers , competitions and even COMMENT on peoples blogs using my email address . Its a risk made everyday that these people do not use my email address for spam but there is always a way out – UNSUBSCRIBE. All that has been necessary for people to do it to instantly UNSUBSCRIBE once there plugin was activated and they got what they wanted ………….. then no more emails ! WHY IS THAT SO HARD TO DO in return for what is one of the best ever and extremely NECESSARY wordpress plugins available ?

After all these years on the internet I am shocked that SO MANY people have trouble using the UNSUBSCRIBE system , it takes only a few seconds to do yet so many would rather continue to complain and flame the developer of a FREE plugin rather than take a few seconds to opt out of a newsletter .
Look at what this world has come to !!!!!!!!!!!!!
