Marketing With Google Wave

in Google

After all the hype about Google wave and many people being disappointed with its usability and lack of invites. The question remains, how is it as a marketing tool? Here are some simple steps to begin marketing on Google Wave.

The Basics

When you have some content to market, make a wave. Add pics, apps, maps and whatever else to make it as attractive as possible. Then add all your relevant contacts to the wave. So they can read and comment on it. If needed ask them to spread it to their contacts.

See that you don’t send out too much irrelevant content cause there is always a spam button .

Make the wave Public

The wave is visible to your contacts once you have added them. Add “easypublic@appspot.com” to your contacts. When you add this app to any wave it will make the wave available in the Public area, open to all.

Tagging

Now how will the public come across your wave? Tag the wave with all relevant keywords.

Do you have any other ways to promote content on G wave? Put them down in the comments!

Ati-uttam. In my limited knowledge and usage of Wave, this seems to be a new addition. And quite a helpful one. I have only used Wave for tweeting and for a group chat session. Should try this one soon.

Cheers,
Sujoy

I don’t think we can use google wave for marketing at this point of time as their are very few users of Google Wave. And i dn’t think google is impressing people its a flop show by google

Google Wave is not having a sufficient active users online only because it is still not open to everyone and spreads with invitation only!!

I second your opinion Arijit. Though once Wave is out of beta I’m sure many users might switch to wave completely.

Priyanka that’s a nice post. If possible, do write a Basics type of tutorial on Google Wave because I believe that many users still don’t know how to use Google Wave.

I don’t think in the “Preview” mode Google has ‘officially’ enabled the functionality to make a wave ‘read-only’. So, anyone who can see your wave, can make himself as a participant and then edit it. Competitors might want to spoil your wave once you have got enough participants/followers on it :)
