Try the 2.0 version: http://www.zimbra.com/forums/announcements/40766-zimbra-desktop-2-0-beta-3-a.html
Thanks for giving info on new client. I will give try to it. So far I used thunderbird, windows live, and other but didn’t like much because they lack some important features. Let me see, how much it worth….
I used it and it is good so far. I like the multiple email login from one client. Most of other do, but they are complicated to use. most important is I can use my university mail account. Thanks for info.
Hi,
Currently I do not use email clients to manage multiple accounts. I just use outlook for my websites email address, and for others, I check them manually, or forward them to one account (gmail).
First time I heard about Zimbra Desktop and it looks pretty good. I also love the fact that it is open source!
Kindest,
Nabeel
@Nabeel, Try it. I assure you that you would not stop using it.
Seems interesting software, going to try it. I’m using Thunder Bird to check my mails.
@Arun, Thunder Bird is also a good one. I have used it. But, after i started using it. I stopped using Thunder Bird.
Thanks for a awesome info and i think this is a alternative app for “MS office outlook”…
@Vijay, Yes it is an alternative to MS office outlook.
With Zimbra you are not able to use multiple email accounts in one folder structure (one sent-box, one address book, one postbox etc.).
It acts as if you have a diffrent program for each email acount.
Each account has its own sent-box, address-book and so on.
Not usable for me in this way.
Outlook and thunderbird could do this easily.
If zimbra would be able to collect my emails from different accounts in one box, I would use it.
I am unable to use this Zimbra Desktop application. Because, when I click desktop icon it does not open but a new window opens and ask for URL address and name. What does this mean? I do not understand.
Will some one guide me and tell how to install?
Address Book in ZD -
I have 10 email accounts that currently use the same address in TBird. The address book is sync’d with Google Contacts. I am able to sync that in ZD but, when composing an email, I can only access it from the account it is associated with. I would like to be able to access it when composing from a different email account. Have you found a way to do that? I am using ZD 7.1.2
Just wondering if anyone has found an answer to that mutiple folder issue with managing accounts….thank-you
