Few days back I have added my review about buysellads and I think it’s better to add another post in the series for the blogger who wants to start with buysellads.
For those who are new to buysellads, Buysellads sell your advertisement spot to advertiser in the niche. Though there are few catch you need to know before you apply for buysellads.
These are the reasons why Buysellads will reject your blog :
- We are currently focused on the tech / web design / development / freelancer niche. While we do occasionally accept sites outside of this niche, you may be denied if you are not in this niche.
- Greater than 100K impressions per month (for new sites, if you (or your team) have a history of creating really nice websites we will accept you).
- Your website must be live, finished, and have fresh content.
- No porn or anything illegal or containing even remotely “questionable” content.
- Site must be in English (sorry, we’re just not able to provide support in other languages right now).
- If you have a ton of untargeted ads on your site already, we’re not going to approve you (you know who you are).
- If you do not have your own domain (i.e. you have a *.blogspot.com url) we will not approve you.
- Getting denied does not mean that we will not approve you at a future date.
- Last, but not least: we’re not trying to be snobby, but we aim to keep the quality of the network high, and if we feel that your site impeedes on the perception of the network we will not approve you.

My blog satisfies all the above mentioned points still i got rejected by buysellads for the only reason that the site was NOT old enough.

I’ve got accepted by buysellads… but need to check out how to publish the ads.. I remmeber i spoke to you on this and you mentioned that a publisher selects our blog, based on the pricing…
I’ve used the lowest pricing, which is $10… but still awaiting some positive results…
May be you could continue writing this series with your experience on how to actually get an ad placed on our blogs.. will be helpful and looking forward to it

buysell ads rejected me
You told me about them and I signed up and got accepted. Not hard to setup and get going. My prices are very reasonable and not high at all, but I’m still waiting for someone to purchase them. I have created 2 banners, one at the bottom of my post and another in the footer (can see this one when you leave a comment).
I will be giving them 3 months testing to see if this makes a difference on my site. If I have no sales then I will probably remove it.

Depending on the niche you will get ads soon. Though for now, you can make changes to not to show black spot as ads, by making little change in the ad code.
Moreover the downside for now is that it will take some time now to update your daily and monthly traffic and once you will have your traffic stats updated, you can expect ad sales… Best of luck.

Pradeep That’s true they keep a part of it as a commission, but its better then keeping your ad spots empty or with affiliate banner which never sells .
i have been rejected. As my website includes information on blogging, wordpress, seo and finally information on colleges. In future i have been approved by buysellads or not because according to them they focus on tech/web design, etc.
Well getting over 100K impressions a month is not really that easy for a new blog. So, it is probably as tough as getting into google adsense I guess. In fact a bit tougher than that.
can tell me more about fresh content?? what the meaning of this??
is the blog should be updated daily? weekly? or the content have to be unique that no other blogs have?
Aditia by fresh content I mean :
Your blog should be updated in regular basis. It can be daily, weekly or couple of times in a week. Depending on your posting nature. Unique content is must have for all the blogs.

I have a new custom domain. Its not possible for me to get 100k impressions per month as its a fresh site. How can i get approved by BSA? My site is within that niche they specified.
When did u applied for BSA ? immediately after launching or after getting traffic?

Thanks for your article. I read it before signing up to BuySellAds and thought that’d I’d have no chance of getting approved due to my blog being new (2 weeks old at the time). I thought I’d try my luck anyway and was amazed when the approval came through so I guess they liked the design of the site and it’s regular updates – maybe saw it’s potential (I’d like to think). The only problem now is building up traffic to attract the advertisers

No approval till now, i applied many times but failed because my my traffic.
It is twice I rejected by BSA, I think right now they became more and more selective, maybe they considering your social media stat, like rss subsribers, facebook fan, twitter follower, or pagerank as you can see on the sample publisher page, I must work harder for this
