I’m an iPhone user and I always look out for app which serve multiple purpose. While browsing app store, I have come across one such useful service call Fring. Fring is an app for smart phones which will let you make free Voice calls, Free group video chat, Free texts with friends and many more features are integrated into it. It’s not limited to Wi-fi connection but you can utilize your data connection (3G, EDGE) to make calls or to use Fring app.
Fring let me make free voice calls to my contacts (Gmail, Skype, MSN and more). I personally tested the quality of Fring and made a test call to my Gtalk friend using iPhone fring app. The call quality is average but it lags at time. Though, it doesn’t hurt much when it’s free. But being an iPhone user, I have some other cool options like Facetime, Skype and so on.
Top Features of Fring:
Fring mobile app offers many free and premium service. I’m not going to talk about FringOut feature which is basically a paid service, which let you make cheap international calls. So, we will look into some of the awesome free features of Fring:
- Free Group video chat (Up to 4 people)
- Video chat
- Live texting
- Fring calls
Apart from making free calls you can use fring as your phone messenger. It is integrated with lots of popular IM services like Yahoo messenger, Orkut, Twitter, AIM and many more.
Apart from all this you can set your own ringing tone for fring. By default Fring is set to Enable at startup, I will suggest disable it because this may slow down your mobile phone.

Yes Paranoid, I have been using fring for the past one year and it rocks..
but it doesnt support video calls as of now.. I heard that there is a software for video calling as well.. but I dont remember the name
was hoping someone might have more info on video calling suing Fring or other related software. anyone? Batra, do you recall your software?

Khushi This means they can make free call provided you have availed free GPRS plan or on Wi-Fi.

hii.. i have downloaded fringe but i m not able to open in my phone.. i m using nokia 3310… can any 1 tell me wats the prob n wat can i do to make it work
