With Jetpack, a new plugin from Automattic, people not on can now access features that depend on Jetpack also provides convenience features that don’t use the cloud, but are now easier to install, or were unavailable as plugins before.

Now here are some of the features, which will Jetpack WordPress plugin will bring into your blog:

JetPack WordPress Plugin Features: 2.6 Version

Jetpack comes with many modules which you can enable and disbale individually. As WordPress team mentioned, they are adding new features into it every now and then and after using this plugin for over months, I highly recommend this plugin to you. Stats: If you have been using stats plugin on your blog, you can ditch it for this plugin.

Jetpack comments: You can disable WordPress default commenting system with jetpack commenting system, which also offers social media login. Though, I’m not really a big fan of this feature but if you are using stock themes like Twenty-eleven or something simple, having Social login feature in your comment form is very useful.

Subscriptions: This is one of the reason why I like Jet pack plugin so much. Subscription feature let your commentator quickly subscribe to your blog updates via a checkbox in comment. Though for now, we have very little control on newsletter send via Jetpack subscription, but it’s still worth using. Infact, I have started using this subscription method to subscribe to other blogs and you get instant Email, as soon as new post is published. Very useful for growing your reader base.

VaultPress: Vaultpress is one of the premium WordPress backup solution by Automattic. I have used it in the past and was not really happy with their performance, but I believe they have made some major changes now to improve VaultPress. Anyhow, with Jetpack you can quickly configure VaultPress and keep a secure backup of your site.

Google authorship: Jetpack plugin enables users to quickly integrate Google authorship for their WordPress blog. The best part about this module is, it works perfectly with multi-authored WordPress blog. You can check out this guide to integrate authorship using Jetpack plugin.

Mobile theme : This module will make your blog mobile friendly by offering a responsive design. Here is a guide to activate Jetpack mobile theme option.

Auto-Publicize feature: This module will let you automatic share latest blog post on various social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and many more. Here is a detailed guide on configuring Jetpack Auto-publicize feature.

Widget visibility: This is an amazon feature which will let you control your widget visibility. This is very useful to improve conversions on your blog.

Website Uptime monitor: In the latest 2.6 version of Jetpack, they have added a new feature which will check your website uptime after every 3 minutes.

Carousel:  This module of Jet pack will let you transform your standard image gallery into great full-screen experience.

There are many more features which is offered by this plugin like you can add a Twitter sidebar widget, add quick social media sharing buttons and many more. This plugin is one of the must have plugin for your WordPress blog. Now, you might need all the modules, so here is a post which teaches you on disabling specific Jetpack modules.

Also they will be adding more feature to JetPack in future and also some of the feature might become premium or some premium feature will be added into future.  Also, in an official post they mentioned that WordPress is partnered with following Webhosting to bring Jetpack after 1 click installation: Bluehost, DreamHost, Go Daddy, HostGator, Media Temple, and Network Solutions.  You can download Jetpack plugin from here.

Since you are getting so many feature in one plugin, I don’t see any reasons for not using this plugin. Do let me know if you are using Jetpack plugin, and which module you like the most?

The visitor stats of jetpack also includes each visit done by the admin.. Is there any other plugin which tracks only the visitors and not the visit from admin IP.

    Hi Harsh,
I have received an email from my hosting Provider saying that my website is high on CPU resources … I use only 11 plugins and that too those like WordPress SEO, Akismet, Jetpack, W3 Total Cache, wp mashsocial widget, Custom Author Byline, nrelate Related Content, Style Box, WP-Optimize, WP-PageNavi, MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer…Firstly I installed P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler) plugin and what I saw was Jetpack took maximum time to load .. So the conclusion I could draw was that Jetpack was the culprit. But I am not sure. Please help I love Jetpack and its Photon service …Please tell me if JetPack uses more resources of my website’s server. i.e is jetpack resource hoggy
