This post is all about scanning your website for vulnerabilities. In this post I will tell you about Aucentix Web Vulnerability Scanner.

Download and install the Acunetix WVS on your system and start the Web Vulnerability Scanner.

Follow the steps mentioned below to scan your website.

After opening the scanner Go to.

File > New > Web Site Scan

The Scan wizard will open up. Write the domain for the website you want to scan by selecting option single scan. Here i am scanning ShoutMeloud itself.

Click on next, then it will fetch the server location and server type of the website mentioned.

Then review all the option and configure them as your demand. ( Let the default option work only, beacuse they are set by your system performance)

At last click Finish button and your scan will start.

It will take some minutes and then show you that if your website is vulnerable or not.

It’s really a nice article for upcoming bloggers/Website owners but I have a small query here, if it finds any vulnerability will this software suggest us preventative measures to overcome those?

In trial version only XSS vulnerabilty will be scanned.
If found any you could take help of a security expert.

@Gouri
As said above, in trial version it scans XSS vulnerability only and in full version it scans XSS, SQL, AJAX, Shell ByPassing, Routing and many more.

When techcrunch was hacked I got shocked. If such a historic blog could be hacked what about baby blogs like ours.

I agree with you on that one. But still, it is good to make your site as difficult as possible for hackers that they decide not to try.
