I am a strong believer of reinvesting money to business whether it is online or offline. Though I don’t make a ton from the services I provide online I always make sure to reinvest the money to promote those services. So far I’ve tried various advertising methods like AdWords and BuySellAds to promote the services. Overtime what I’ve learned is that you will lose a lot of money if you don’t ask for email of the reader who land on your blog and great landing page will increase skyrocket the conversion rate.
Here are 5 tactics I’ve been using on my landing page to sell the services and products on my blog.
How to Improve Landing page Conversion – 5 Simple Technique
1. Create a video that explains your product
If you are selling a product on your website, explainer video is so important next to NONE. Most people believe creating a professional looking video that describe a product will cost huge money. In fact, you should not necessarily hire Ephipheo guys to create an awesome video for you. Instead you can hire experts from Fiverr or elance who can do the job for far less money. Or you can DIY by following this guide on making animated intro videos.
Below is the video I’ve made by hiring a guy from Fiverr to promote my premium ebook.
2. Remove distraction
The sole purpose of your product landing page is to get the email of your reader or to sell your product. So avoid all other distraction that let your reader go away.
Here is what you should do to avoid such distraction from you reader.
- Make sure the message is simple: A lot of content that is not well organized will surely distract your readers. Though, having more content is not bad but make sure the message of your landing page is easy to grasp.
- Avoid putting external links: Each prospect is valuable. So if you really wanted to include a link on your landing page make it open in new window.
3. Use email subscription form instead of contact form
Not everyone will be interested to order the services you provide immediately after landing on your page. They may need more time to take due diligence about you and the services you provide.
So if you are spending money for advertising and not asking for email of your readers you will definitely lose a lot of money on the table. Every niche on internet is overcrowded so there is no guarantee once a user landed on your page will return to your blog in near future. So a nice practice is to collect emails and make a relationship to the readers so that they’ll more probably become your long term reader and thereby order your services.
4. A/B testing
Nothing can replace the practice of checking what works best for your blog. It is true that every test you conduct won’t be successful but unless you check you could not find the best practice. Create goal on Analytics, make some changes on your landing page, keep it for at least a week and learn which works better.
5. Create Killer landing page
Your landing page could be for your service, or for your resource page or just a lead capture page. No matter what it is, it should be appealing and stand out of the other pages. As I mentioned above, you should have video, simple layout and Email capture on your landing page. You could always hire someone to create such landing page for you, or if you are on WordPress, you can take help of plugins like InstaBuilder to create one by yourself.
There are many other factors that improve the landing page conversion, for example how fast your page is loading, where is the placement of your Call to action buttons, and so on. Though above mentioned 5 techniques will ensure to improve your conversion by a great number. This is something which worked for me, and I’m sure it will work for you too.
