I always advocate to use adsense on your blog for recurring income and no doubt it’s one of the best way to make money via blogging. To make a handsome earning via adsense you need to learn various tips and tricks of adsense, which usually come by experience and by reading. I religiously follow official adsense blog to learn more tricks and tips to make most out of adsense.
One thing is true when it comes to adsense & Advertising bigger is always better. At our blog ShoutMeLoud, we have major ad spot as 728*90, 468*60, 350*250 and 125*125 ad spot at sidebar.
From the performance point of view, my 728*90 ad blocks performs best, followed by 350*300 ad spot at the top of the post, 125*125 ad spot below post, 468*60 ad spot at the top header & 125*125 ad spot at the sidebar.

Hey Yes you should go ahead and apply for adsense.. Though try to use your Google apps address instead of normal Gmail address. Ex: admin@thewebtricks.com

Indeed bigger is better. I am about to hit the payout on Adsense and from my analysis the 300 size ad box have performed th best.

From my experience so far , the text ad with 300 size gives the best performance….
hi harsh, great article, which plugin to use in wordpress to implement ads in posts. after title and in between ads. when ever i use quick adsense plugin, the ads are been displayed upon posts. so some part of the posts are not viewable.

The 336×280 size blended at the start of the post has worked best for me. In fact, I started getting success with adsense only when I blended it within the posts and optimized the categories within Adsense.
But there is no doubt it is a very good monetization option for all bloggers.
Large Rectangle (336 x 280) and Leaderboard (728 x 90) are the best performers. Blending 336 x 280 and complementing 728 x 90 with the content are working well.
I always feel, going with a big rectangle is more beneficial than any other ad unit.
