SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a website from search engines via organic search result.
In layman language, there are millions of blogs and websites on Internet. SEO helps your post to appear on the prominent place in the search engine. When you search for any term, how often do you digg to search result page, after 1st page. So SEO in simple words, optimizing your content (Blog posts, websites) for search engine, so that they can be crawled and indexed effectively.

SEO is not a rocket science, nothing can be perfect in the world of SEO as search engines change its algorithm after a certain time interval. So whatever is good for a time being does not necessarily good for all the time.
