Agreed to all the points except the submission of site to bing, I would rather love search engines to index me rather than me submitting my blog, though submitting a sitemap is a good practice but not url
This is definitely the first article I’m reading about optimization for Bing! Pretty useful links. There should definitely be an advantage for new bloggers since the pre-existing blogs would be having far too less advantage in terms of number of pages indexed. Though domain-age might be an important factor, Bing seems to be indexing new blogs quicker than Google.
Frankly speaking, most webmasters and bloggers have paid no attention to Bing, a search engine can’t bring any traffic to us.
Thus, it is really difficult to find one article about how to optimize the blog for Bing.
this is frst ever post i have seen on web related to BING optimization
i was unaware that domain age and meta tags play an important role in bing
ATUL
Domain age doesn’t play a role, it depends on the meta and the keywords that has been used. I completely disagree with the domain age thing.
Well Ram I am sure.I searched about Bing on the web and found in some articles that Bing also considers your domain age for site ranking.May be u r right.
Sometime articles can be misleading my friend, many of my posts are listed in the first position (although many other people have written abt it, whose site is years old). I think it all depends on the quality. Neither Google nor Bing in my experience considers that, although Yahoo has this factor I guess. Bcoz some posts that are listed in the first page in G & B are not listed in the first 10 pages of yahoo.
I have noticed, If you dont update blog for long time your indexed page in bing will reduce as compared to the Google. Now i have 0 pages indexed on bing as compared to 80 last month.
Yes Rahul I’m totally agree with you.If you dont update blog for long time will be a negative point in bing like google.
I’m one those who is looking for this info. Good work friend, need to know more about this.
BING is Not Google! It’s quite slow in indexing pages…
Great analysis. We focus too much on Google and sometimes we miss Bing and Yahoo and other SEs. This post reminds me about this, Bing exists. Thanks
This looks like it essentially boils down to “writing for Bing is like writing for Google only with even MORE emphasis on unique content”. I think that’s really the take home message from any SEO work we do today. Whether its Google, Yahoo or Bing, write quality content, often, and keep the basics in mine without being spammy and you’re good to go! Thanks
