Images which I use in my posts are picked up from Flickr, or screenshots has been taken using a paid software call Snag it! Snag it is one of the best imaging and screenshot software for bloggers. Here are three other ways which you can use to find images for your blog. Few Images are clicked from my Nikon D5000.

Find Images For your blog using Flickr :

In this post I have explained how you can find free to use images from flickr which are released under  creative common license.

Find Images for your blog using Google Image search :

Months back Google released a new feature in Google advanced image search which will let you download free to use images for your blog. Use this tutorial to refer.

Find Images using Stock.xchng:

Stock.xchng is a hub for high quality stock photos which you can use on your blog.

You can use any of the method explained above. This will help you to get a beautiful and appealing image for your blog post. Always remember a good image speaks 1000 words. My personal Favorite is Flickr.

If you take your own screenshot, you should read my previous post on How you can use Flickr to drive huge traffic.

I always just go directly to creativecommons.org and do a search for photos to use on my blog posts. It gives you the option of searching Flickr, Google images and a few other sources without having to go from site to site.

Are all the images from Flickr under Creative Common license? I never knew Flickr is under CC.

am always afraid to use images which i do not own copyright myself, will check out your flicker tutorial next, so basically if i just use the image with creative common license and give a backlink, it should be ok?

I think finding a nice Image depends upon the creativity of the Blogger… in this case harsh himself…. an not on the tools used…
I mean who doesn’t know about google image search.

BTW, I recent reviewed an application “PicApp.com” which is great for entertainment blogs…. since the site allows users to hotlink the images, and at the same time a script allows Reader to mouse hover over the image and view more pictures of that celeb etc.

Deb thanks for appreciation and adding more resources. Though that “picapp.com” seems to be good..but I will still suggest try to take your own screenshots , images or upload it on your server. For reason, you will not pass the traffic juice and will not lose image search traffic.
More over as I said above if you take your own screenshots, you can use Flickr to drive traffic to your blog

No, all flickr images are not under Creative Commons. Only those, whose owners wants them to be

A lot of bloggers tend to use any image on their blogs without bothering to see if it is protected or not. You have provided some great sources and ways to find free and legal images to use on your blogs. I myself did not know of some of these. Thank you very much.
