India Joined elite currency club by getting distinct symbol for Indian currency “Rupee”. With in Few days developers like Fordian released Rupee fonts to integrate Rupee symbol in word documents using existing keyboard. Specially for Indian E-commerce site or blog, it’s a good idea to take advantage of Indian rupee symbol and display it along with price of your product. Many sites, already started doing it and soon it’s going to be a standard to use rupees symbol, while listing product for Indian online market.
Now if you are looking to type or display the Rupee symbol on your WordPress blog, then you can use below simple method that allows you to display the symbol even in your old articles.
All you need to do is, open the footer.php file, then copy below JavaScript code and paste the code above closing body tag.

When ever your type “Rs” or “Rs, the script uses WebRupee API and dynamically generates Rupee symbol for web viewing as shown in below image. For advanced options visit WebRupee.

Now to display Rupee sign anywhere in your WordPress blog:

I’ve used this in one of my web-apps.
Correction: Rs. and NOT Rs. 200 (It will prefix Rupee symbol before 200)
Alternatively you can also use the unicode for Rs. :-

Do not add the script if you don’t use it on your blog. You can add it whenever you want to display rupee symbol. Un-useful scripts increase the page loading time.

Wow this is something new, thanks for sharing, BTW why should we use a javascript for this, instead we can simply link the stylesheet and call the value.
We can make use of stylesheet CSS code for html pages and API is most appreciated for wordpress blog.
